Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horiz. Carbonized Bamboo:
It looks good but I wonder if the boards are all cut the same. I take pride in good lines but the boards dont seem to be cut so when put together they leave gaps.

Installed in bedrooms and hallway. Matched the oak flooring on stairs well. Be sure to look at the flooring before installing as color variations occur (sometimes 4 shades). I had to bring back some boxes, but LL was great at finding me boxes of compatible shades.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horiz. Carbonized Bamboo:
Just wanted to add to an initial review I made after the first room I installed the flooring in. The first install was in a master bedroom and walk in closet in November 2007. Subsequent to that installation the bamboo flooring has been installed in the upstairs hallway and 3 additional bedrooms and another large walk in closet. My entire upstairs is now bamboo flooring. I found this easy to install and durable. If you follow the recommendations of letting the floor age and moving the furniture to prevent dents and dings I think you'll find that the flooring is extremely durable. Sure it will scratch. I moved a computer on its side and put a small scratch in the flooring but that would happen to any wood floor. We walk on it in bare feet and with shoes on and if there are a dozen scratches total that's a lot. When the upstairs was finished I also had 2 of my 3 children still living with us so there was quite a bit of traffic upstairs so I am pleased with the durability. I'm now deciding between bamboo or some other type of flooring for my living and dining rooms. Love the floor and I found it pretty easy to install. And if you're not sure about something as the guys in the store. They answered every question I had and were right on with their answers.

Installed and looked as advertised. Not the easiest do it yourself, but certainly worth the effort.

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Horiz. Carbonized Bamboo:
Installed in an entry, hallway, kitchen, and breakfast room. Was affordable and beautiful, BUT..... Scratches and dents VERY easily; definitely not harder than oak. Not kid or pet friendly. Dogs' nails will scratch even if kept trimmed. Now, six years later, we are trying to decide if we have to replace the floor, or try to have it professionally refinished. Some say that bamboo can be refinished, others say it can't since it's actually a grass, and won't stand up to sanding. We may try the sandless refinishing.

I wrote a comment about having a bad first batch of this product. After getting it switched out, the material was great, and the installers got 400 sf installed in one day. It looks amazing now, though I wish it hadn't pushed back my remodel by 4-5 days. I must say however, that I am glad that the installers alerted me to the problem instead of just installing it and then pretending it was normal. A quick check of the internet will tell you that is not always the case.

I used this wood on stair landings only, so I can't say much for acutal rooms. It looks really nice, but my 2 dogs have already scratched it badly. I would recommend going with the strand bamboo. It is a floating floor and super durable, not a scratch from 2 100+ dogs in 2 months.

I had the floor installed in one bedroom and it looks super beautiful. The installers had little waste and complimented the product. I had shopped empire prior to this and was given a bad referral on bamboo and the pricing was over 10x with installation included. I will def have this flor installed in other parts of my house in the upcoming weeks.

Q:
Is the bamboo certified by the Forest Stewardship Council(FSC)?0 answers
Q:
can this product be used in a cottage, where there is no heat in the winter1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No. Climate control is required for any pre-finished flooring. Urethane finish can't handle the dimensional changes that take place with extreme environmental shifts, HOWEVER you can use an unfinished hardwood (preferably quarter/rift sawn) finished with tung or other natural oils as with covered porch flooring. These site finished penetrating sealers expand and contract with the flooring without cracking.Q:
Is this a stranded bamboo product? Thank you.1 answer
A:
No it is not.Q:
Sections of the above flooring are slightly worn out from traffic. What products and procedures do you recommend to do maintenance recoating?1 answer
A:
To restore the original shine of a solid hardwood, bamboo, cork, and engineered floor a screen and re-coat may be needed or a complete refinishing. A professional sand and finish expert would have to make the determination on site on which sanding process will be needed or which can be done to restore the floors shine.Q:
Are the edges of the flooring beveled?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. Like all pre-finished flooring this has a micro-bevel. There are no square edge bamboo that I am aware of because square edge flooring is un-finished and requires site sanding and finishing.Q:
Can this product be glued directly to a concrete foundation?1 answer
A:
Yes, by following our instructions.Q:
I am allergic to glues. Is it possible to install bamboo on a1 answer
A:
For this application I would recommend installing a solid wood product nailed down to the subfloor.Q:
I live in a mobile home. A number of years ago a friend installed ceramic tile throughout my home. In a matter of months, I had 72 cracked tiles. They had not checked for the support under the home. Since then I have installed pergo in the kitchen and dining room, other tile in the other rooms (vinyl) and still need to do the living room. I am extremely sensitive to glues and smells and want to go 'green"....What do you suggest? I would prefer bamboo or cork....Thank you...1 answer
A:
A Clic Strand Bamboo is the best option for youQ:
could this product be used to decorate the ceiling of a kitchen? I assume that we would nail plywood to the drywall and then install the flooring on it. How can this be done?1 answer
A:
You are correct.Q:
what cleaning product is best to use on bamboo? i know warm water but is there a cleaning solution that is recommended or not?1 answer
A:
We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. Thank you for your inquiry.
