Q:Are the bamboo planks solid bamboo? and are they tongue and groove?
A:Yes this product is all bamboo top to bottom and it is a T&G construction.
Q:Would it hold up better in a kitchen with a 1/4" cork underlay? We used to do this with hardwood on basketball/racquetball courts, easier on the feet and didn't get beat up as much with the extra "give". Also, had a half inch strip around the perimeter.
A:Cork may help a little, however consider there should be not much give with the flooring when nailing or gluing. Approved underlayments - Bellawood Premium, Eco Silent Sound, Insulayment, Cork
Q:how long does carbonized bamboo have to acclimate?
A:ACCLIMATION/CONDITIONING OF THE FLOORING After harvesting, bamboo flooring is kiln-dried for optimum service. Bamboo is hygroscopic, meaning its size and shape changes with the absorption or release of moisture. The amount of change varies with wood species, cut, and type of flooring. Therefore, controlling wood moisture content (mc) is important for success. First, acclimate the new flooring inside the home in consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Using a reliable species specific moisture meter, measure the moisture of the wood subfloor and flooring. The difference between the moisture of the wood subfloor and wood flooring should not exceed 4%, or 2% for planks 3” or wider (See moisture testing) Continue to acclimate the flooring until you meet these requirements. The length of acclimation time is not the determining factor. The goal of acclimation is to reach a balance between the core of the new flooring with its surroundings before assembly, fastening or installation. Depending on your local in-home conditions the use of humidification/dehumidification equipment to maintain proper in-home environment is strongly recommended. Never install bamboo flooring in rooms or homes that are not climate controlled. Acclimation is the responsibility of those overseeing the project. Not following the above recommendations can negatively impact board performance and can result in excessive movement, squeaks, board gapping, board-edge cupping, finish and other related issues.

Q:Hello, I am going to help my mom install a wood floor. We are thinking about using the horizontal carbonized bamboo. The room is small (about 9x9) and currently has tiles of linoleum that she cannot get off. Is it okay to install over these? If so, should we still lay a vapor barrier directly under the wood? Also, I believe there is plywood under the linoleum. Thank you
A:Unfortunately installing directly over; ASPHALT TILE, VCT VINYL TILES and CUSHION VYNYL is not recommended.
Q:I am looking for a stair nose and threshold, same thickness and color as this flooring.
A:Stair nosing SKU# 10009690, Threshold SKU# 10014180. Thank you for your inquiry.
Q:I have a 15ft by 15 ft living room how many boxes do i need?
A:This product question would be better answered by our Sales Department, they are more familiar with all of our flooring products and can better assist you with your questions.
Q:I moved into a home with this flooring and was trying to clean it and polish it, now it looks like it has a film on it. The product I was using was Bona; I've used it on my oak flooring before. How can I get the shine back and not get a residue look?
A:To restore the original shine of a solid hardwood, bamboo, cork, and engineered floor a screen and re-coat may be needed or a complete refinishing. A professional sand and finish expert would have to make the determination on site on which sanding process will be needed or which can be done to restore the floors shine. Not all engineered floors can be refinished because of having a thin veneer layer.
