St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Horizontal Natural Bamboo High Gloss Laminate Flooring- 30 Year Warranty

St. James offers a regal alternative. The V groove makes it a snap to install and the random lengths give your floors a real wood look and feel.
At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is recommended for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James Collection's Advantages:
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 30 Year Warranty

                  Best Uses

I installed this product in my master bedroom and upstairs hall, replacing the carpet. It looks very nice and brightens the room considerably. Was easy to install relative to the hardwood i did downstatirs. However, there were lots of damaged pieces and even with creative use of the damaged pieces I am now short even after alotting for 10% waste! Worse still is that by the time i got the flooring down, they have changed the interlocking design so now i will have to fudge the last 5 square feet of my hall and hope no one notices, assuming i can get it. Their inventory system must be a joy because one store tells me the other has it and the other claims the first one has it in stock.

                    • Floor Of Course

Prepping the floor took the most time. Did a 10 by 10 room and closet in less than 4 hours. Pieces went together easily. I like that pieces were different sized. Made a random lenght pattern better. Backing did extend past edge of piece but was easily trimmed.

I put this in a basement. I used the underpayment also with it for the moisture barrier. It was easy to install. The color takes getting use to buy my room is just insulation right now which is yellow song the room looks like a big sun. Its nice though, very good for the price.

The floors have been installed for 2 weeks now and I actually went back to get more boxes to complete the whole apartment. I received so many compliments on these floors. They really brighten up the rooms and give a nice clean look. They did not look too pale which was one of my concerns, and actually takes on a golden glow when the sunlight hits them. No complaints from me. I love, love, love these floors!!!

                            Service and delivery comments:

I initially was going to purchase flooring online, but decided to go to the Lumber Liquidators in Yonkers, NY instead. The staff was very knowledgeable and patient. They hand-loaded all boxes in my car. I would purchase from them again.

Overall, the sales team at our local (Arden, NC) office were stellar in their support and the product they sold me was exactly what we needed/wanted for our basement renovation project. The laminate was easy to install minus the directions being a bit vague in places. Using a small block to gently tap the boards in to place after the first row worked great, but the boards (being laminate) chipped fairly easy if great care wasn't taken.

That said, if you are patient and gentle while installing, everything should go smoothly. Once in, they look great for laminate (nothing compares to hardwood).

                            Service and delivery comments:

Since we are more than 30 miles from our local store, delivery was more than 25% of the product cost which was too high for me, so I decided to pick up the laminate (just over 400+ square feet) myself and the guys at the store were wonderful and really helpful (and they didn't make me feel like an idiot for having questions about the installation).

Considering putting in either laminate or bamboo in a kitchen. Can we put in floor heating under either? It will be installed over vinyl that is glued to subfloor? What type of in floor heat can be used for this application?

                                A:

Laminates- yes, bamboo is not recommended over radiant heat.
Floating floors - Most recommended because these types of floorings are installed over an underlayment and not attached or fixed to the subfloor. The flooring is free to move as a total unit to better accommodate subfloor movement and environmental fluctuations (moisture and temperature).

Engineered flooring –Works well over radiant heat because its unique plywood construction creates greater stability as each wood layer is positioned perpendicular to the other thereby resisting movement from environmental fluctuations (Depending on the selection can be nailed, glued or floated over the subflooring). If choosing engineered flooring for a radiant heat application, the consumer is advised to select a product constructed using a relatively stable wood species on the top surface. Consult your local Lumber Liquidators store or customer care for assistance if needed.

                                Laminate flooring requires climate control.

Acclimation: Condition the flooring before, during and after the installation in the room area to be installed. Do not store product on bare cement. Allow the planks to lie flat in unopened cartons away from exterior walls where they will be installed, for 48 hours before starting the installation. The indoor relative humidity should be 35-75%, with temperature of 60-85°F. Very dry or very humid climates may need extended conditioning. Poor acclimation may promote plank gapping or edge swelling.

As long as you protect this laminate from moisture you will be fine.

I am putting this product in a beach condo covering bathrooms, kitchen and everything. Will the floor be ruined if a wet towel or water is left on the floor? I read a review of someone who put in american mission olive laminate and ruined it with water. It was one negative review out of 80.

Laminate flooring is water resistant but not water proof. Flooding/excessive moisture will damage almost any flooring. If you happen to spill water on your floor, clean it up as quickly as possible. If massive amounts of water leak out onto the floor, such as a dishwasher that has leaked , it might damage the floor to the point where it would need to be replaced. Most homeowners insurance companies would cover the repairs needed if this were to happen.

Not recommended as it will void your warranty and it will not adhere well to this surface.

Due to the possibleexcessive moisture present in a laundry room I would not recommend any of our laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4 and 5 mm click together product that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.
