Comments about Dream Home - St. James 12mm Horizontal Natural Bamboo Laminate:
I put this flooring throughout my entire house (minus bathroom and laundry room). It has made it look and feel larger, plus given it a fresh look. I love the floors. The only thing I wish I had done is used the sealer between the boards throughout the whole house and not just in the kitchen. It takes very little time for moisture to seep in and cause warping. So my advice is spend the little bit of extra time and money to do that as it will save you in the end.
Service and delivery comments:
I was working on bringing the 52 cartons home in different loads when my Jeep died. One of the asst. managers lived out in my area and he offered to help out by bringing the rest of the materials to my house as he could. When I offered to pay him for his time and gas he wouldn't accept. That is one man who went above and beyond for the company he works for!
When it was time to install the flooring I used an installer from Lumber Liquidators. These guys were fantastic and they made the process as painless as possible - especially when you consider we were doing the entire house.

Q:The installer did not put the vapor barrier down in in my guest bedroom. I am in a 1st floor condo on a concrete slab.He has just made it out to the hallway but the question is-would you have him pull the flooring back up and put the barrier down or is it ok since it's a moisture barrier board?
A:If this is being installed over concrete and the moisture barrier being used is our 6 mil poly, yes that should have been put down in the bedroom to protect the laminate from potential moisture coming from the slab.
Q:Can this be installed on a basement? Some bamboo floor products I've seen are not for basements.
A:This is a laminate so yes it can be installed in a basement
Q:Can this product be used for commercial kitchen application? Does the underlayment add any padding/cushion for ergonomic purposes?
A:Yes, high warranty laminate flooring like this can be used in kitchens. We highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Also you will need to wipe up any water as soon as practical.
Q:i installed this flooring in two rooms less than a year ago. it has started to blister in one room only in one area. it has NOT gotten wet. can you please tell me why this is happening and how i can prevent this from happening in the future.
A:Thank you for writing in! I would be glad to help you with your questions.
Q:Is this product good for little kids and pets?
A:This is an excellent product for kids and pets, being the thickest most durable laminate we retail
Q:3 different size planks. How do you start laying this ? Help me please !
A:You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdf
Q:Will this flooring resist scratches from pets? My cat still has his back claws and likes to run.
A:Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
Q:What is the best way to install laminate against a brick fireplace hearth?
A:Best but more difficult; undercut the hearth with a mason jam/undercut saw and fit under leaving recommended expansion gap. .
Q:Would you reccomend this product for installation in retail space which is occasionally used to host dancing events? If not, can you direct me to a product more suitable? Furthermore, are there additional discounts available when purchasing in high volume (3000 spf+)?
A:This product question would be better answered by our Sales Department, they are more familiar with all of our flooring products and can better assist you with your questions.
Q:I live in a condo with concrete flooring under carpet and foam padding. It is not a basement. Do I need to lay plastic barrier still? If so, I do I attach it to the concrete floor?
A:A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall.
