Installation Tips:

  • Easy click installation.
  • Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
  • Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
  • Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
  • For a more natural look, mix plans well when installing.

About Engineered:
With plywood engineered products, real wood veneer layers are stacked on one another, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other. Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, one layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture and temperature change.

  • Q:

Can extra layers of polyurethane be added over top of this product to protect it, like with solid wood floors?
Asked on 7/28/2016 by Nicole from NC

      A:

You could reseal prefinished flooring after it is installed, but this would void the finish warranty on the flooring and create extra expense for you after already buying a new floor with a finish warranty. Adding a new finish won't prevent all moisture from going into the seams. Wood will expand and contract with climate changes. If the flooring were to contract later and create seasonal gapping, a spill can cause water to get into the gaps. It is best to only add a new finish when the old finish starts to wear more than you like or if you have a lot of scratches you want covered up. We recommend that you use a professional sand and finish expert if you did decide to add a new finish to the flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

This quick click flooring has an MDF core and thin wood layer on the bottom.
I would recommend visiting your local Lumber Liquidators to look at the actual sample (take home samples are free) or order a sample to make sure this is the right product for you.

I live in central AZ where the humidity ranges from 5% to 50% with an average of about 20%. I'm concerned about dry-out causing shrinkage and spaces between boards or other problems.. Which type, i.e. wood based or laminate or other would you recommend.

      A:

All of our wood, cork and laminate flooring products are recommended for interior use only and designed to be installed in a climate controlled environment.

Being a natural product it will be subject to the effects of temperature and humidity. If proper heat and humidity levels are not maintained your flooring may shift, shrink, expand, gap or buckle.

  • Q:

I have Cinnabar Oak Charisma Plus 8MM laminate flooring. What can I put on the flooring to give at a little shine?
Asked on 3/10/2015 by Joe from Haines Citty FL

      A:

      Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

      A:

Very durable, this resilient cork product has been installed in one of our very busy meeting rooms for over five years and except for a few dings from stiletto heels and someone dragging a "very heavy" table across it without protection looks "GREAT"!
