Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL |
|
|
Dream Home Insulayment Multi-purpose underlayment with 100 square feet per roll. Insulayment is perfect for glued-down, nailed hardwood or engineered wood floors. It insulates sound* and cushions floors. It helps keep floors warm in winter and cool in the summer. All this with the added benefit of an antimicrobial structure. Meets or exceeds most condo associations' sound proofing requirements. Used under glue-down or nail-down Solid and Engineered Hardwood flooring. Approved for use over radiant heated flooring. *In order for any isolation barrier to be effective a certain amount of compressibility is required. Although the compression resistance and density are higher than most isolation barriers a certain amount of deflection is to be expected when installing a glue-down or nail-down flooring type. This deflection may cause a mild friction "floor noise", especially in nail-down applications. A minimal amount of "Floor Noise" is not considered a flooring defect. Please note this product is not recommended for nail-down applications where engineered or solid hardwood flooring is less than 3/8" thick.

Comments about Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL:
Takes no time at all to install. The best part is that if something comes up and you're not able to install your floor immediately, once the padding is down, it looks like you've done a full days work. :)

Comments about Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL:
Rolled out easily. Tacked down at corners with staple gun to hold in place.
Initially, I thought there was an issue because one side looked shiny/slick while the other side looked a little different. Checked the product paperwork and there was no mention of one side vs. the other.
Worked great. No complaints. Dampens sound.

Comments about Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL:
Go with the best when installing your new hardwood floors. This underlayment helps make the job easier. It does accomodate for minor imperfections in the subfloor, rolls out easy, is easy to cut to length, really does help reduce noise, and makes a difference in insulating the floor.
Yes, it is spendy, but if you only plan on installing your floor once, go with a product that is superior. After the floor is laid down, you'll have no regrets!

Comments about Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL:
Used under 3/4" hardwood floor. Rolled out nice. Deadens sound well. Despite other reviews, I found that it cuts easily with a sharp utility knife (sharp being the requirement). Very difficult with a dull blade.

I used this for the first room to receive laminate flooring in our home. It was simple to cut and gives great noise reduction in a second floor bedroom.

Comments about Dream Home Insulayment 100 SFT ROLL:
When we bought this stuff, I left the store feeling like a heel for getting talked into it. Now I'm glad I did. I laid down a bunch of planks loosely, some on this stuff and some right on the subfloor. The difference in sound and feel was incredible.
After nailing the flooring down it feels solid to me, but people tell me they feel a little give which helps reduce fatigue when standing on it for a long time. Neither my wife or have ever had hardwood so we can't tell.
The thing we can tell is that it really does help quiet the kitchen. The new floor doesn't sound hollow like the old self-stick tile over plywood did. Both are gone, new floor is on the subfloor just like the old one and sounds much better.
