NIRVANA Plus by Dream Home- 10mm Lake Toba Teak Laminate Flooring- 25 Year Warranty

Dream Home's Nirvana line of laminate floors will fill your home with harmonious style.
Nirvana Laminate Flooring StructureThis product has it all: a 10mm moisture-resistant core PLUS a 2mm pre-glued sound-proofing foam underlay, the feel of real wood grain and a 25 year warranty.

Quick Installation Tips:
- Designed for glue-less laying, and must be laid as a "floating floor".
- Subfloor must be clean, flat, smooth, and level.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, Quiet Walk or the Eco Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments offer best joint/seam support while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities, these properties are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

NIRVANA Flooring Advantages:
- Real wood grain
- No glue and no nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 10mm + 2mm pre-glued underlayment

This will help solve #1 issue people had

Best Uses

I read every review on this site before purchasing this product. I was hesitant because of so many negative reviews, but I chanced it and am glad I did. I have some tips here that I wish would have been made clear in other reviews. I think this will help, especially those who are DIYers. I have installed 2 different Nirvana Laminate floors before. The Toba Teak was not as strong as the other, but it was still good.

    Installation:
The biggest complaint I saw on the reviews were people saying that the material was cheap and easily broken. The reason for this I believe is that people were putting the tapping block on the tongue and groove as opposed to the laminate. In other words you put the tapping block on the piece that locks to the next board. The locking mechanism is exactly that to lock into place, it was not made to be hit with the tapping block. If you place the tapping block on the laminate (above the locking mechanism) and hold the block down firmly while hitting it into place you will not have any damage to the boards. There were a few times where I was not paying attention and the block was on the locking mechanism and it definitely broke when I hit it, or I wasn't holding the block down firmly so the hit caused it to push up and it chipped the laminate image. Im sure some people could have had faulty boards, but I think this solves the "breaking easily issue" in most of the comments.

Installing the boards is super easy. Sure there might be a few boards here and there that have issues, but for the most part it was smooth sailing. The only problem with install is getting the boards to lock under door frames. Since you need to angle the board in order for it to go into the grooves there were some moments of frustration when this was not possible around a door frame. I found that starting in the opposite direction (left to right) made a huge difference in these situations. I also used the 'S' bar (the one used when you are getting close to a wall) to pull the boards up to an angle when I was at a door frame. IT helped to have another person hold the board at an angle while I hammered it in. Other than this the install was super easy.

I recommend you watch Youtube videos on how to install laminate before doing it yourself, especially in regards to moldings and around door frames.

    Hope this helps!

Looks Beautiful with our current kitchen

We love the look of this flooring that replaced laminated flooring in out kitchen/baths. It updated our home appearance. Only downfall is it does show dirt (we have dogs) and it seems to chip if the dogs drop bones on it. I have touched up the areas where this has happened so it's not noticable. Our installer did a wonderful job.

I am using this in 2 bedrooms, hallway and living room. I tried Lumber Liquidators after looking at your website and I found help the minute I entered your store. I also looked at some big name stores and no one helped so I went back to your store. Your employees were super and when I picked up the order I was really pleased. The bedrooms and hallway are done and look great. The living room still has to be done but so far I am very well pleased. We will see how it holds up to 3 dogs and 3 cats but so far it is a winner and I would recommend your store to anyone.

This was the first laminate flooring that I have ever installed but five properties later I am a pro and realize how easy this was to install. I am writing a review now because I installed this over two years ago. My tenant and his giant dog just moved out and the floors still look like the day I put them in. The pictures I am attaching are not from right after installation, they are after two years with a giant dog. Buy these. They hold up.

We put this in our basement rec room. It was tricky to get together at first boards would break if hammered in. The boards would pull apart. A lot of the boards were damages already. It looks nice and the price was right. Looks way better than carpet does and a lot cleaner! If I ever do laminate again I would probably go with a different brand.

Yes, each individual plank has a bevel on all four sides.
I would recommend visiting your local Lumber Liquidators to look at the actual sample (take home samples are free) or order a sample to make sure this is the right product for you.
Order samples and get a full credit on your future flooring order.
Purchasing samples is a great way to compare the many fantastic flooring choices available at Lumber Liquidators—and it's so easy!
                                    1. Find the flooring you're interested in by clicking on a category or using our Floor Finder on the home page.
                                    2. When you find a particular floor, just click on the "Add Sample"(if available) text. On the right of your screen, you'll see a swatch of that flooring. That means it's in your shopping cart.
                                    3. You can get up to three samples for $10, with every additional sample costing just $1—and shipping is FREE.
                                    4. Simply check out. Upon purchase, we'll send an e-mail with your "Samples Credit" equal to the total dollar amount of your samples purchase, redeemable with any future purchase.
Note: expedited samples shipping fee is not refundable and will not be added to the "Samples Credit."

would this flooring work next to roman umber 5mm click in an open floor plan? Would the coloring compliment each floor or clash? also would the different thicknesses make a tripping hazard?

One picture looks like this was installed in a kitchen. I was told not to install a laminate in a kitchen or bath. I would love to use this in a living room and adjoining kitchen. Since it says "moisture resistant", is this possible?

Yes, laminate is acceptable for installation in a kitchen or a powder room. It is recommend to put a throw rug by the sink because an excess water can damage wood. You will need to wipe up any water that sit on the floor as soon as possible. However a full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for laminate. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas. I want to lay this on top of a linoleum floor which sit on a concrete slab. Will this provide a little more warmth to the floor than is there now (which is none)? What would be the best option for this? Is there a thicker pad that would be better for warmth? Thanks!!

                                    A:

This product has a 2mm pre-glued sound-proofing foam underlay and will be warmer than your existing vinyl directly on the slab.
IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

Carpet and pad must always be removed. Carpet is not dense enough to support the locking system. Which will cause the floor to separate. Thank you for your inquiry

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
