Bought this because we did not want to use the hand saw or circular saw for our cuts. It completely ruined the board we were trying to cut, crushing it instead of cutting. We were left with a mess of slivers, dust, and an uneven board.

So easy to use my grandson was doing it in less than 5 minutes out of the box.
Does what it's supposed to do.

only problem is it needs a larger guide for flexible vinly planks. Not a problem with wood

The construction of this tool is a bit rough, but it leaves a remarkably clean cut on the top surface. The bottom surface can be a bit ragged and sometimes the cut edge curves slightly at one end. The cutter was 1/4" too narrow for the boards I was using, so I had to put the board in backwards from the instuctions and start the cut, then slide the board in to finish the cut. The tounge and groove seemed to survive the extra abuse, but it was a bit of a hassle to reposition each board when I cut it. I would probably feel better about this if the boards I was using fit into it.

We really tried to use this product and it was not effective. We were cutting 8mm laminate. Several of our friens tried this product and we all agree the table saw worked much better.
Worked well on 5mm vinyl; On 10mm flooring not so well.

Bought the tool to use in an upstairs environment to keep the dust down and so I didn't have to keep going up and down the stairs for every cut. It doesn't cut through the floor, but rather pushes through it. Blade isn't designed to be very sturdy so even making a straight line cut still ends up being off cut. Bottom of flooring pushes out leaving a mess, which has to be cleaned up with a knife. After about 8 cuts I switched back to my chop saw and the stairs route. Not recommended coming from a contractor. I used a 7mm floor so not sure how it works with a much thicker product but I can imagine no better if not worse. Take the time to do it the right way with a saw, rather than the do-it-yourself way. Will save headaches and end up with a much nicer finished product.

Q:
is there a difference between engineered and laminate flooring, if so whate is the difference?1 answer
A:
Laminate flooring is a cost effective, attractive alternative to real hardwood but with certain limitations. Laminate floors are a mixture of resin and other ingredients applied over an image of wood.Q:
I see that this cutter does not cut the length of the laminate, only the width. This means I'd need a saw to cut the long sides, which defeats the purpose of this saw. Is there a way around having to use a saw for the long cuts that I am not aware of?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately not.Q:
