Comments about Dream Home Laminate Installation Kit:

I wound up buying 3 installations kits due to the tapping blocks being made of a cheap, brittle material & breaking...wasted more time with that problem than actually installing my floors until I made my own out of wood...THAT worked perfectly!
Do yourself a favor...and make your own, if the first breaks as the 3 I bought, did (grrrrr)...
the blocks in those kits were a total waste of time & money.

The plastic tapping block broke while placing the second board. With the table saw, I was able to create one from a small 1x2 that got us through. Save your money! The pulling bar worked great and was included in my tool collection.

you obviously have to have an install kit.
but this one is so cheaply made that the tapping block, cracked and fell apart after only 200 sq.ft. of a 500 ft job.

Comments about Dream Home Laminate Installation Kit:

Tapping block is weak. The word Tap should be taken literally. Went back for another "kit" because they didn't sell the small blocks separately. If it were stronger it would work very well as designed.
Pulling Bar is not a good design for laminate. It invariably chips the edge. Maybe it works well on hardwood, but the end should be angled so as not to touch the top surface of the laminate. I had some success putting a small scrap or spacer under the bar to create an angle, but this should be built in.
Spacers were ok, but would have preferred not so many grooves. When boards move during installation, they tighten against the spacers, all the grooves make for difficult removal without chipping ends..only way to avoid this is using the pry bar to loosen, but then you end up chipping the ends anyway.
Overall, the kit is really cheap quality for money spent. I ended up spending double for the project (2 kits), because it's faster/easier than making your own. It got the job done, but left me feeling like when you use a cheap tool, you know it would be a lot easier and come out better with a quality product. I would have gladly paid twice the price for a better kit.. Lumber Liquidators please take note!
Note:The kits were used on the 12mm laminate, not the cheaper thin stuff.

The kit was a must have for the installation of laminate flooring in my dining room which is approximately 11 X 12. Less than 1/3 of the way through the flooring the wedge was broken in several places. It was small and difficult to use. This product could be improved on for sure.

You are doing the right thing, however the cleaner is only necessary about once or twice a month.

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

What's the minimum gap that should be left around all of the outside edges of a floor being covered with Dream Home Nirvana laminate? Doesn't this flooring need room for expansion and contraction?

The minimum would be a 10mm gap.
