Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Lono Oak:
Many pieces were in "rough" condition, not milled as nicely as they might have been. Some longer boards were slightly warped, making them harder to install. Biggest concern was that the top surface finish needs to extend further into the grooves between boards -- unless boards are 110% tight together, the unfinished surface tends to show through. Basically pleased with the product, but not nearly as much as others from Lumber Liquidators I have used.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Lono Oak:
It was professionally installed. The installation time was lengthened due the to narrow width of the product I purchased (it was on sale) and I believe the appearance would have been improved had the materials had be 2" wider. All-in-all no regrets on the purchase.

Comments about Casa de Colour 3/4" x 2-1/4" Lono Oak:
While completely remodeling our kitchen, we decided to replace the original pine floor in the kitchen of our 100-year-old house. We wanted oak like we have in the rest of the first floor. After receiving a quote of almost $1900 to install, sand, stain and finish approximately 180 SF of red oak flooring in our kitchen and half bath, we decided to install prefinished solid red oak floors. Even though the finish was redder than expected based on the store display, we liked it a lot. When we received the 2 additional boxes that had to be ordered, however, the stain was much different. It is much less red than the 6 boxes we originally picked up from the store. This has created quite a problem since the rooms are contiguous. We were surprised and disappointed to find such a variation in stain for the same product.

Q:
I own a 120 yr old row house. The bedroom floors are the original 3/4" x 2 1/2" pine directly attached to the joists. The floor has been sanded and refinished twice. They are in bad shape (big gaps, splintering) and cannot be reasonably refinished again.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
When installing over solid pine, it's best to lay at least 3/8" CDX Plywood over first to ensure a good nail bite and prevent excessive nail pop and squeak. Expansion rates will differ from the pine to the hardwood flooring, plywood isolates this normal movement. For gluedown installation it holds true also because that movement could create bond failure.Q:
What do you suggest for stair nose and any other pieces?1 answer
A:
This product question would be better answered by our Sales Department, they are more familiar with all of our flooring products and can better assist you with your questions.Q:
Is the finish on lono oak prefinished oak polyurethane with aluminum oxide?1 answer
A:
Yes it is.Q:
do they make any type of sealant that can be applied to this floor that will waterproof it without harming the finish or voiding my warranty?1 answer
A:
Unfortunately not.Q:
How much underlayment, sticks, threshold and cord do I need for 394 square feet?1 answer
A:
You will need enough underlayment to cover a minimum of 394 sq ft.Q:
I have Nirivana .877 mill backed laminate installed over 1" tong and grove floor boards. Can I install 3/4" oak flooring over the laminate with out removing the laminate?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No. Laminate floors need to be removed for a proper nailing base. For details on proper installation, type "Dura-Wood" here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/custserv/aboutus.jsp?pageName=Flooring101Q:
I am interested in getting a steam mop. It appears that many models claim they can be used on hardwood floors that are sealed. Is the Lono Oak finish handle steam cleaning? I am getting tired of using a dust mop, and would like to get something that can finish the job in about half the time.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Lumber Liquidators does not recommend "Water brooms" "Wet-Jet Swiffers or steamer type cleaners on laminates, corks or hardwood floors. Although steamers may work well cleaning OTHER types of hard surface flooring, the 130° to 240° heated steam vapor can ruin wood or urethane finish resulting in warped or cupped flooring. Water and wood do not mix well, especially steam. Use these products at your own risk.Q:
I'm getting ready to purchase from your store. I like the Lono Oak1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear.Q:
1. I have existing oak hardwood that I will keep but add new hardwoods to the dining room and office as well as second floor which is all carpeted today. I will sand and restain the existing floor. I don't know the exact species other than oak. How can I be sure it will match?1 answer
A:
1) I would recommend getting some samples of this product and have a sand, stain and finish proffessional come look at your existing floor to be sure he can match the new flooring product.Q:
What do you recommend to clean this floor? My son just installed this floor in my dining room and entry/hallway late November. Wondering how to clean some dirty spots that I'm seeing. So far, I've only had to use a dry microfiber (Swiffer) to get up the dust.1 answer
A:
Our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes.
