Give your floors a REAL WOOD look and feel with St. James Collection!

St. James Collection by Dream Home - 12mm Manatee Hills Mahogany Laminate Flooring - With FREE Pre-Attached Padding - 30 Year Warranty

With a variety of 12mm V groove laminate options with an additional 3mm of pre-glued underlayment, from a high gloss to a warm low gloss finish, and with deep, warm to medium hues, this spectacular product make a stunning floor!

St. James offers a regal alternative. The V groove makes it a snap to install and the texture and detail on each plank gives your floor a real wood look and feel. At 12mm, the St. James Collection is very durable and comes with a 30 year warranty!

Quick Installation Tips:
- Store flooring flat for 48 hours in its original packaging at room temperature.
- Must be installed over a clean, stable, flat, smooth, and dry surface.
- Moisture barrier is required for installations over concrete.
- Make sure the panels are mixed sufficiently when you install them so that you do not end up with too many identical, light or dark panels next to each other.

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of our Bellawood Premium underlayment or ECO Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments will best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities and are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

St. James 12mm Manatee Hills Mahogany Product Highlights:
- No glue or nails needed
- Easy Click Installation
- Moisture resistant board
- Thickness: 12mm + 3mm (1/8") pre-glued underlayment
- AC Rating: 3
- 30 Year Warranty
- Made in the USA

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

Looks great, not easy for us to install.

    By Laminate Newbie

    from Idaho

    Verified Reviewer

    Pros

    • Looks Great Feels Sturdy

    Cons

    • Hard to install

    Best Uses

We like how the floor looks, and it feels sturdy (not hollow or flimsy). Color and pattern is great. For us, laminate newbies, it was hard to install. It got easier after you got the hang of it, but even then it didn't always lock securely in place and you would look back a few rows to find a piece had separated..aaarg. In some parts of the floor it was probably our uneven floor to blame, but even in the flat parts we had some issues.

      Service and delivery comments:

Tried to order a different product online, after waiting 4 weeks they still didn't know for sure when we would get our flooring, so we went into a local store and got something in stock.

It was very hard (like impossible), to get the joints to lock together, so installation was a battle and we ended up with gaps between boards. Don't know if my expertise was lacking, but, I ended up nailing a bunch of boards in place. We'll see how it holds up.

This was our first DIY project, my handy man skills prior to this was the ability to screw in a light bulb. We couldn't figure out at the start how the planks worked because there were no instructions in the boxes. We thought it was an angle to angle method since all the youtube videos were angle to angle for laminate flooring... however, we got lucky and found on another website that it's a slide drop and lock method you need to use to install. Found the directions in a box about seven boxes into installation. Also, some pieces won't fit together like another person below reviewed... just slide in another piece that does fit and use the piece that didn't work later... just have to be patient and make sure everything is lined up and locked in. Great floor, looks amazing.

Is this particular product (Dream Home - St. James 12mm Manatee Hills Mahogany Laminate) recommended to be installed as floating floor on top of concrete in a basement?

If so, what relevant information should I know before choosing this product? e.g. I'm installing on a concrete basement floor and therefore should I be using additional moister barrier?

                      • Q:

I am building essentially a box with a 3/8" plexiglass top with wooden (? laminate ) strengthening members, approx 2 feet square by 10" deep. It is to be an artists portable palette and paint tube. media, brush and turpentine depot, with a handle for portability. Fully loaded with paint etc. it may well weigh 20 to 30 lbs. Is your composite flooring capable of this type of use, and if so, is it compatible with acrylic solvent /and /or epoxy cement? Do you have any figures on the coefficient of elasticity, tension, etc. In other words, can it be used as a structural material? I have plans to build many of these "portable studios" if this design turns out as well as I expect. Sincerely, R.W.Kingsley

It is not a structural material, I recommend using wood to build this box.

                        1 answer

                        • Staff Reviewer

                          A:

Our wood floors are manufactured for maximum durability, easy maintenance and finished with a high quality aluminum oxide water base urethane UV cured finish. This step protects the wood and helps keep the flooring looking beautiful longer. While highly durable, the finish is NOT considered indestructible. However, by observing a few precautions like setting up a regular cleaning routine and simple maintenance program to protect the finish, you can expect years of performance and beauty from your wood floor. All wood floors can show signs of wear over time. There are many factors that can affect the amount of wear. These include the size and lifestyle of your family and product location.
                          The following cleaning principles are recommended for all of our products -Hardwood, Laminates, Corks, Bamboo and other Exotics. Outlined are examples of the reasonable and necessary maintenance to be performed; this is only intended to be a basic list;
                          • Immediately after installation, be certain that the flooring is completely cleaned and dry as described below. If you must protect the flooring from traffic, use only “craft” paper, brown, red or white, this will allow the flooring to “breathe”. Do not fully cover the flooring. NEVER lay plastic of any kind or any other non-porous material over the flooring as this can trap moisture, harm the flooring or fade the finish.
                          • Sweep or vacuum regularly, since built-up dirt, grit and sand can damage the surface of the wood. If using a vacuum, use a soft brush attachment -NOT A BEATER BAR ATTACHMENT. Be certain the wheels of the vacuum are clean and do not damage the finish. When using a broom be certain that bristles are soft. You can also use a dry mop.
                          • Because of the myriad of cleaning products available and methods of each application, Lumber Liquidators cannot endorse or oversee the use of any Brand Name of floor cleaner. We do recommend cleaning products safe for urethane finishes such as our Bellawood floor cleaner.
                          • The use of a changeable terry cloth type system to clean the floor is highly recommended; apply cleaning solution to the terry cloth not the floor.
                          • NEVER use oil soaps, liquid, or paste wax products or other household cleaners that contain lemon oil, Tung oil, silicone, or ammonia on pre-finished flooring. The use of these products will harm the long-term performance and appearance of your floor and may affect future re-coating. (Damages caused by non-recommended cleaning products are not covered by warranties). NOTE: This also includes the use of vinegar and water solutions as water can damage wood. Vinegar is an acidic element that can have an oxidizing, caustic effect on the finish.
                          • In an effort to clean hardwood floors, many have experimented with a variety of cleaners on the market and end up with a new problem. “How to remove the build-up of cleaning products revealing the original surface"? If this is the case with you, we recommend consulting with a professional cleaner local to your area because they can best see the details involved and make the most accurate recommendations. If you choose to remove the layers of build-up yourself, use cotton rags instead of a mop to control the amount of liquid used.
                          • NEVER wet-mop, damp-mop, swab or flood your floor with water or any other product. Moisture can seep into the seams causing edge-cupping damage. Urethane floors do not require wet mopping. Natural floors are water resistant, not water proof. Remove all spills promptly using a soft, slightly damp cloth
                          • STEAM CLEANERS OR WET-JET swiffer; Lumber Liquidators does not recommend "Water brooms" "Wet-Jet Swiffers or steamer type cleaners on laminates, corks or hardwood floors. Although steamers may work well cleaning OTHER types of hard surface flooring, the 130° to 240° heated steam vapor can ruin wood or urethane finish resulting in warped or cupped flooring. Water and wood do not mix well, especially steam. Use these products at your own risk.
                          • Do place protective mats at entry doors to keep dirt, grit, sand and moisture from being track in from the outside.
                          • Do use area rugs in heavily traveled areas and pivot points (e.g., stair landings, room entries, etc.), especially if you have a large family or indoor pets.
                          • When using area rugs, use a rug pad with a felt, plant or PVC based backing. DO NOT use area rugs with a petroleum based rubber backing (typically black) as this can cause permanent chemical staining/etching of the floor finish.
                          • Take reasonable precautions; use a dolly and protective sheets of plywood when moving heavy objects such as furniture and appliances.
                          • Place protective pads beneath furniture legs and feet to reduce scratches and dents. Check and replace wore pads regularly.
                          • Keep pet’s nails trimmed, and paws clean and free of dirt, gravel, grease, oil, and stains.
                          • Scratches, dents and cupping are site related, not considered a manufactured defect.

                      • Q:

Is this textured at all? I can't tell from the pictures, and there was no sample available at the local store. The main requirement i've been given is that the flooring should not be completely smooth, or even have that smooth/wavy feature. We are looking for something that has the grain texture you can feel with your hands.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

I would say it is more of a semi-gloss finish.

                          A:

All of our laminates, "composite" wood and engineered products are all CARB Phase II compliant and is stated so on the outside packaging. Starting January 1, 2009, California began regulating the formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products (particleboard, MDF, and hardwood plywood) sold in the state or used to make finished goods offered for sale in the state of California. The Airborne Toxic Control Measure (ATCM) is known as the "CARB rule." All products containing composite wood products must comply with this regulation.

For complete MSDS information; Please go to our Website @ LumberLiquidators.com and at the bottom of the page click on Flooring 101, enter (MSDS) Materials Safety Data Sheets, , enter, then click on the PDF to open. Laminate flooring is a cost effective, attractive alternative to real hardwood but with certain limitations. Laminate floors are a mixture of resin and other ingredients applied over an image of wood. Thank you for your inquiry.
