Lisbon Cork- 13/32" x 11-5/8" x 35-5/8" Mora Cork Flooring

Quick Highlights:

DURABILITY - 25 year warranty same as traditional hardwood.
DESIGN - Architects, Designers and Home Owners love the color pallet and fashion patterns of cork.
COMFORT -  Cork is resilient which relives stress in the back and legs when standing on our floors.
WARMTH - Cork takes on the temperature of the room. Great for warm or cold climates.
QUIET - Cork is great for sound deadening due to the honeycomb cell structure of the bark. This reduces sound within the room as well as between floors in multi-level structures.
EASY MAINTENANCE -  Just sweep and spot clean for many years of use.

Lisbon Cork Co. Ltd. Fine Cork Flooring combines the beauty of a natural material with the comfort of a cushioned surface. It is durable, acoustical, and a great insulator.  The bark of the cork tree is peeled without destroying the tree and it grows back within nine years, ready to be harvested again. Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a joy to live with. Cork is considered a green product because the same tree can be harvested numerous times.

Installation is confusing at first. The purchased tapping block damaged the cork and the installation instructions are unclear. Once you learn how to install it's easy, however there should be better instructions. A friend who had installed gave me the best advise...connect the short end first, then use a 2 x 4 that is the length of the "tile" to tap it in on the long side. Push down slightly on the edge as you tap it under the previously installed row.

Had the flooring installed today. Looks great and my daughter loves the acoustics in the room. Gives the room a new look and fresh smell.

                  Nice Floor!

I like the cork floor because it has a nice look to it and is much softer on the joints. I had it installed in a spare bedroom and ran it all the way into the bathroom. The only thing that was a drawback was how thin the boards are. When I took them out of the box, they looked more like laminate flooring but cost as much as hardwood. Once it was down it looked real nice. I like it so much that I'm going to finish the entire upstairs with it. I like the fact that's it's impervious to water as well.

The floor has only been down 2 months. It is very delicate. Already I have had to make repairs in two spot where the finish eroded from the cork.

Great for sound dampening, look and feel. A bit longer to get used to sound of walking on floor.

Ensure nothing gets on pad and under flooring that would cause bump or bubble.

                              Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was delayed a bit by largest material movement for major April Sales. Existing customer orders should not be delayed for future sales material. Exceeded promised window fulfillment.

Goes in as floating floor. Clicks together. Builder said it was fast and easy, but I didn't do it personally. Barely see the seams at all an in just he right light. Know you're getting long rectangles, not square tile that is visible.

Overall we are pleased with the look and feel but were quite surprised at how easily flooring chipped. I have already purchased the patch kit to fill in superficial scratches.

We installed this in a fairly narrow kitchen that leads in to a pantry, and this was the first time we ever installed this kind of product. It is tricky to work with in a small space, and took some thought at times as to how to maneuver it. We did have lots of cuts because of the shape of the floor, and that made it much harder to do. But we love the final product!

Nice looking product and well packaged but with misleading installation instructions. Would not assemble or stay together using the given directions. I finally achieved a satisfactory install using a pullbar, a hammer, and (what I felt) was too much force.

                                    Service and delivery comments:

The delivery was great. The product was in good condition and well stacked and packed for delivery. However, customer service was lacking. The person I spoke with at the store was not familiar with the product. He gave me the customer care number but when I called no one was available, they were all in a meeting. When I finally did get a call back it did not sound as if they were familiar with the product and could not provide me with any guidance.

We installed this in out kitchen. With 2 little kids I am loving this already. So soft on the feet. Dropped a plate the other night and nothing happened!!!! It looks great with our hardwood floors.

Wood products can be dramatic in appearance, especially the exotics. Only factory made products such as tile, vinyl, and wallpaper will have uniformity of color. Keep in mind that wood and corks are natural product and no two installed floors will be identical. Variations in appearance are completely normal and are a desired characteristic. As your floor ages, color or shading called “patina” can occur. This process can be rapid the first 3 months, less in 6 months, then finishing off in about I year. Moving the furniture and rugs around helps to even out areas that were not exposed to light. Try to avoid large area rugs for the first 3 months.
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes.
When installing wood floors, select boards from several boxes. Working from one box at a time can create poor color grouping or placement of any flooring. Any one board you feel is unacceptable to install can simply be discarded, replaced with the 5-10% overage you should have on hand.

I am thinking about installing Mora Cork Flooring in my basement. The room is part below grade and part sunroom, so the flooring needs to be good with heat fluctuations as well as being a basement application. It gets pretty warm in there from the sun, but is cold in the winter. There is a plywood subfloor. Do I need a vapor barrier or anything with this product in my basement? Maybe a radiant barrier or closed cell foam underlayment? Is there a different cork flooring tile you would suggest?

The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and most meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations, which is listed on the boxes. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.

Yes you can put appliances on this flooring product. Being cork (a soft material) it may compress but should bounce back, I recommend using floor protectors for this application.
