Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3" Natural American Walnut:
Many damaged pieces but beautiful once installed. Glad we didn't do it ourselves as our installer went through 2blades. Hard to keep clean with a golden retriever, but worth the extra effort as it's beautiful when dusted and clean. Would recommend adding an extra box even though we were advised not to because we would not have had enough without the extra box because of the amount of damaged pieces

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3" Natural American Walnut:
this floor is beyond beautiful, the color is exceptional!! i believed the salesperson when he said the finish would stand up to my dogs even if the wood was softer than oak. we've had this floor since easter and it is VERY scratched, i cover scratches every time i clean it. our dogs are not large dogs either. i do love the floor and am already looking forward to having it refinished in a few years and then putting a really hard finish on it.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3" Natural American Walnut:
The floor installed easy and looks great. The boxes included some very nice pieces of wood with fantastic grain. There were only a few bad pieces with broken tongues. The walnut seems to dent and scratch more than expected. It is a softer wood than oak. We also noticed the boards were uneven in thickness compared to an oak floor I installed. The oak floor I installed seems like it will be more durable than the walnut, but I prefer the walnut over the oak as far as looks go. I would recommend using the walnut in an area with less wear and tear than a kitchen. We have dropped a few pieces of silverware, and it leaves a dent in the floor.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3" Natural American Walnut:
I was very disappointed in what is described as "Select" quality. There were many holes due to knots and too many very short pieces. The amount of flooring that could not be used was greater than normal.

This was my first time to install a floor. Once I got the air pressure regulated to the nailer, everything went well. The floor looks beautiful. There were a lot of beautiful planks of wood. We made sure to use those in priority locations (in front of the fire place, front door, etc. There were only a few bad boards in the 800 feet we installed.

We couldn't be more satisfied with the looks of this flooring. That being said, we do have to baby it because it dings rather easily. This came as no surprise since we had done our research and knew that walnut was a softer wood than most. I am so pleased with it and will pray that it holds up over time. We had a carpenter friend of ours help with install and it went pretty smooth overall.

WE PUT THIS IN OUR GREAT ROOM AND LOVE IT. WE PLAN TO USE IN OUR LIVING ROOM AND KITCHEN ALSO. I PICKED THE FLOORING BECAUSE I SAW IT ON HGTV DREAM HOME. I DO THINK THE ONE HGTV WAS WIDER THAN THE 3 FOOT.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3" Natural American Walnut:
I put this in my family room after seeing it on the HGTV 2009 Dream Home. I think the picture from dream home looks like wider planks than what I was told it was. I purchased 3 1/2 but I think their picture looks more like the 4 or 5. Beautiful floor though.

We are in the process of installing this in our guest bedroom. This floor is beautiful and the pieces which weren't perfect we used in the closet. The finish and color everything about it is really great and we both love it.

Q:
I've heard Walnut lightens over time. How much difference would one see?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Actually all wood floors can experience color shade change overtime. American cherry and many exotic species like Brazilian Cherry, Tiger wood, are photosensitive and will gain a richer, darker patina. Area rugs and large furniture that cover the floor should be moved periodically to allow exposure to UV light and air on the area. Eventually, the entire floor will reach the same even shading. There are no known values established for this natural condition. Walnut is not as photosensitive as the others mentioned.Q:
since the wood is softer on the Janka rating scale, how much more likely is it to damage due to compression such as furniture, refrigerator, or to damage via scratches?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
American Walnut is beautiful but very soft and can dent easier than about everything besides pine.Q:

CAN SOLID WOOD BE INSTALLED ON A SLAB WITHOUT A SUB-FLOOR?1 answer
A:
Yes, you can install a 3/4" Bellawood flooring over a slab without a subfloor by using our Elastilon underlayment. 5/16" up to 1/2" thick Bellawood flooring can be installed as a glue down installation over a slab as long as you apply a moisture barrier over the slab first.
