Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Natural Ash:

We installed over 1,700 square feet of natural ash, whole house except for baths; only had 5 boards that we had to trim or set aside for use in closets.
Ordered quantity suggested, had some left over in which Lumber Liquidators took back unopened cartons, kept other boards in case we have damage in future years; but none expected with hard finish.
This is third time I have purchased solid hardwood from Lumber Liquidators, quality of Bellawood is worth the cost.

    Service and delivery comments:

Sales staff were very helpful and knowledgable.
Delivery time was convenient and adjusted to my schedule,
Delivery guys were polite, clean and worked quickly.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Natural Ash:

Installed about 300sqft in my daughters bedroom. We initially where not sure of the natural grade of ash till we saw it in person, it was amazing looking. The local lumber liquidators had it on sale so it was a done deal. There was some variation in the color, but honestly not too much. Had very little wate boards, a handful at most. Some that where not great we used in the closet. Installed using the eco-underlayment and also a floor stapler with 2-1/2 floor staples.
The flooring looks amazing and is holding up well.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Natural Ash:

I had the floor installed by a professional but I was the one that chose the product because of the good experience I had with the same wood on another floor in my house. Once it's installed, you can move all the furniture back in immediately. In contrast, unfinished flooring has to be sanded and coated several times over a period of several days, then one waits a week until it hardens before moving the heavy furniture back in. The installation of prefinished Bellawood is a much faster process. The 7 coats it has are much more durable than the normal 3 coats refinishers put on. The floor I had installed 4-5 years ago still looks new despite having many dogs in the house.

                        A:

For best performance, condition and maintain the flooring to consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%, before, during and after installation. Depending on your local conditions the use of a dehumidifier or a humidifier may be necessary to maintain the desired results. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning to balance the wood to the environment it will service. Proper jobsite conditions, acclimation, moisture testing of the subfloor and new flooring all work together for the success of the installation, and is the responsibility of those overseeing the project. Not following the above recommendations can negatively impact board performance and can result in excessive movement, squeaks, board gapping, board-edge cupping, finish splits and other related issues. This is especially true regarding flooring placed in seasonal or vacation homes without proper ventilation and climate conditions.

                        A:

Solid flooring should not be installed over radiant in-floor heat systems due to finish and stability issues.
Even solid species with better dimensional stability characteristics cannot predictably be guaranteed to perform over radiant heat floors.
Most of our products are plane sawn which results in dimensional change in the width direction
However, all our floating floors (not attached to the subfloor) as they are most recommended for this application.

                        A:

We visit our suppliers’ mills and forests and assess their adherence to our code of conduct and its protocols concerning environmental, labor and health and safety matters. In the past, we have stopped using certain suppliers because we were not satisfied with the credibility of their responses to detailed questions about compliance issues and we regularly decline to pursue business with potential new suppliers that cannot provide evidence of compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
While FSC Certification is gaining in popularity, it is only one of many initiatives designed to promote ethical forest management/conservation. True FSC Certification requires supervision or custodial of product from seed to manufacture which some of our vendors participate in.
Lumber Liquidators offers flooring brands that practice responsible harvesting. People that make their living in timber know the importance of sustaining healthy forests. Without a well-planned growth cycle, they simply are out of business. Tree cutting is monitored very carefully within a selective cutting and replanting strategy. At Lumber Liquidators, we believe hardwood flooring is a natural, healthy choice—for both you and the environment.

                        A:

This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.
But can be installed as a floating floor using our Elastilon underlayment.
What you should know about Elastilon Strong
An Elastilon-backed wood floor is much faster to install than traditional nail or glue-down methods.
Elastilon Strong can be installed on new concrete floors, handling up to 3.9% moisture content. A vapour barrier of at least 6 mil PE should be used below grade and on newly poured concrete above grade where the moisture content is above 3.9%.
Laid down with a 5/8” (15 mm) expansion gap, Elastilon Strong creates a dynamic, floating floor that expands or contracts naturally with the hardwood.
Elastilon Strong has no odor and is free of volatile materials.
                        Elastilon Strong gives cushioned comfort.
1/8” (3 mm) thick Elastilon Strong has ratings of IIC 62 and STC 54.
                        Thermal resistance: R _ 0,15 (m K) / W
Elastilon Strong carries a 70-year limited warranty.
                        Thank you for your inquiry.
