About "Natural Grade" Flooring
Natural Grade flooring has some color variation, mineral coloring and small knots. It can also be referred to as #2 or Third Grade.

Crafted to a Higher Standard. Every board is milled to precise specifications to ensure ease of install and topped with our industry-leading scratch-resistant finish. In fact, quality control engineers walk over 12 miles a day inspecting each board, before and after the finishing process.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

  • Q:

i turn my heat down to 45 when i leave in the winter, and turn it up to 73 when i return. will this affect the wood flooring?
Asked on 2/4/2016 by Patrick from United States

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

      Possibly, yes!
Just like you, wood actually performs best with consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions of the country usually require extended conditioning. Maintaining the recommended acclimation levels even after the installation should be viewed as ongoing floor care. Your doing so will help to minimize board movement, excessive squeaks, finish cracking and gaps.

  • Q:

DOES NATURAL ASH YELLOW OVER TIME?
    Asked on 10/24/2015 by RA

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

What are good ways to clean bellawood floors?
Asked on 10/17/2013 by Stephen from United States

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

      Cleaning and Maintenance

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
      General Cleaning:
One. Lightly sweep or vacuum your hard surface floor.
Two. Spray Bellawood floor cleaner onto a terry cloth mop cover and wipe the floor surface.
Do not use this product on wax finished floors. Do not spray cleaning product directly on floor.

  • Q:

How many coats of finish does this one have?
Asked on 7/8/2013 by Jun from Tall

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Our Bellawood floors are factory pre-finished with an aluminum oxide water-base urethane using a multi-step application process. (8) coats are applied to most domestic and exotic wood species and each coat is hard-cured using Ultraviolet (UV) light. Bellawood pre-finished flooring offers superior wear resistance and is backed by a limited 100-year warranty! (The exact formula is propietary information) The formula for the Bellawood finish is a custom mix that has a 50/50 gloss. The sheen you get is shinier than satin, but not as shiny as semi -gloss.
The average dry film thickness for Bellawood is about 3.65 mils – one of the highest in the industry. Maintaining the appearance of any wood floor requires close attention to in-door climate controls during seasonal changes.
