Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
Had used another prefinished product (Canadian) and was $3-4 per sq ft more. This offered a comparable and simliar quality for a significant savings. Replaced old carpeting in 4 rooms --LR,DR,MBR and office. The most labor intensive aspect was removing the old carpet and especially the padding which had been breaking down from years of steam-cleaning.The moving of the furniture was the next hardest and than the install was a breeze by comparison. Would highly recommend it and the finish product was fantastic improvement on the appearance of the house.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
We are very happy with this floor. Our contractor was impressed with how easy it was to install and how little waste there was following installation. He has since recommended it to other clients. We originally bought the flooring for a downstairs remodel (living room, dining room, hall, kitchen). Because so little of the 10% overage was needed, we had enough material left over to do our master closet.
Service and delivery comments:
The product arrived in excellent condition. The delivery team was pleasant and staged the many boxes (820 sf) where requested without complaint. One problem...I didn't think to include floor heat vent grills with my initial order. The local store did not stock what I needed and a lengthy delay in shipment/delivery would have held up my contractor. Customer Services was able to track down the needed items at a store in a nearby City but again, shipment would not have been timely. To avoid installation delays, I drove ~45 minutes to pick up the material which had been put on hold for me. To avoid my mistake/subsequent problem, I suggest double-checking your initial order to be sure it includes all required accessories.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
We purchased aprox. 1000 square feet of Bellawood hardwood, 3/4" thickness. It came in approximately 40 cartons. There wasn't a bad board in the lot. Not a single one! Every board fit perfectly, no warps, no chips or mars, no imperfections due to manufacturing. The grains are so interesting and multi-colored. Each board has its own uniqueness and beauty and has very clearly been meticulously treated at the manufacturer.
This product comes HIGHLY recommended. Easy installation. Took one month from the time we started tearing up old flooring and carpeting and doing the prepping till the time we laid the final piece of trim work, replaced heat grills, etc. Everything! Worked a few nights a week after a long day at another full time job, and three out of four Saturdays. Once you start getting the "hang of it", you get a system going, and it flows quite well.
I do very much recommend buying a good quality nail gun. A good one can be purchased at Lumber Liquidators. When done with your job, simply resell the gun!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
I am about 1/2 through putting this hardwood flooring down in our living room and long hallway. It is about a 420 square foot area. It is absolutely beautiful! Handling each piece is enjoyable - the grain patterns, fit and finish all are so very nice. We tore up a 30 year old carpet to do this, and of course painted the walls and ceilings before installing the hardwood.
My only complaint is that you have to look at each piece carefully before putting it down. There are occasional imperfections, some glaring, some very small. One box in particular seemed to have more than the others. I didn't notice a couple and ended up with some gouges in a main part of the walkway that I will have to fill. Other than that, I am very pleased.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
Beautiful wood. The straightness of the boards made installation very easy. Finish is gorgeous.
I installed the wood over 3/4" OSB using Aquabar-B as underlayment (260 sq. ft) in the master bedroom. Earlier this summer, installed Bellawood 3/4" x 3-1/4" select ash in 2 additional bedrooms, and 3/8" x 3" red oak natural on the upper and lower stair landings. In each case, the product met or exceeded my expectations of few boards with defects (and even those boards were usable by cutting out the defect and using the remaining board - in all cases, a significant majority of the original board was utilized), straightness of wood (the slight curves of a few boards were easily straightened via use of the floor stapler), and smoothness/evenness of finish. The quality of the wood grain itself was superb; i.e., beautiful patterns, healthy-looking specimens.
All told, we spent a fair sum on these projects. The value of the product received was easily worth the price paid. I highly recommend these Bellawood products and, due to my experience thus far, would turn to Bellawood for additional square footage and additional wood species.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
We replaced a dirty and worn formal living room carpet with this beautiful red oak and couldn't be any happier.
The guys at the Woodbury, Minnesota store were helpful in walking us through the choices available. Thanks much!
Installation went fairly well. This is a high quality product. Very little of the product was unusable. We ended up able to return an entire box and got some credit for the return.
The bottom line is that the floor looks so much better than what it replaced that we feel a little better about the house!

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Natural Red Oak:
Just installed it in my new home with Eco Silent Sound underlayer. Very happy with the combination - very solid and quiet, looks great, feels right. Quality was good - needed far less than 5% above the raw square footage, not the recommended 10%. And the 100 year warranty will add to the house's resale value.
The one downside is the weight - each box weighs 59.98 lbs, doing my whole ranch the wood weighed 2 tons so we made sure our UHaul could carry that and installed the boards across the floor joists. Also, the cardboard boxes the wood came in sometimes opened at the ends due to that weight, but fortunately despite that none of the wood was damaged.
If I had to do it again, I would still make the same purchase.
Service and delivery comments:
Didn't use delivery, but want to thank the Norwalk store's Matt Pataky for his tremendous help and extra effort, from taking the time to help us decide upon which wood and underlayer to use to reminding us when we returned the extra wood to register for the warranty (I'd forgotten).

Q:
I am going to be ordering about 1,000 square feet of the Red Oak SKU 10011545. I ubderstand the boxes are 72 inches in length, and weigh approximately 60 lbs. How many square feet come in a box. Want to know if I rent a cargo van, or if my 1 ton pickup can pick this load up in one shot.... Thanks....1 answer
A:
21 sq. ft. per box = 47+ boxes.Q:
I am thinking of using this on a stair landing. It would be easiest to naill the first and last rown in place and glue down the rest of the boards onto the subfloor. Is that acceptable? Anything I am not taking into acount?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
When nailing your first and last rows where a nailer won't fit because of the wall or cabinets, drill and hand nail as many boards as you can through the tongue at a 45 degree angle. When you don't have room for that pre-drill with 3mm bit (3/32") to prevent finish damage/cracking and face nail with 5d-8d galvanized, screw shank, ring shank or regular finish nails. Countersink with a nail punch and fill holes with a matching filler.Q:
We have a older upright piano. What is the best way to install the floor and get the piano back into the room? What should we have under the piano and bench legs to prevent damaging the floor or are we better off just moving the piano to another room?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Use Hardboard or thick moving blankets to protect the flooring when moving. Protect your new flooring with "piano caster cups" once in place.Q:
I live on the second floor in a condo and need to be considerate of my downstairs neighbor. Should I or can I use a sound deadening pad.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes! You can use either Eco Silent Sound or Bellawood Premium Underlayment.Q:
I would like to buy a domestic product. Is this red oak sourced from the US?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It is North American from U.S. and some Canada.Q:
Is this vertical grain?1 answer
A:
No it is not, this product will have mostly plain sawn boards with very little rift/quartered lumber.Q:
What is the true, exposed, finished width of 3-1/4" Bella? (Natural Red Oak)1 answer
A:
1) The exposed finished (face) width is 3-1/4".Q:
We live in Airzona, above grade cement floor. Can we have real wood flooring? I don't like the engineered kind.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. I recommend using Elastilon as your installation system for your area. Elastilon Self Adhesive Underlayment is a good option for any flat subfloor. You can use up to 3/4" thick or thinner solid or tongue and groove engineered flooring (works best with 1/2" or thicker). Floating with Elastilon needs to have an expansion break for spans over 33' on it's width, but not length.Q:
HOW LONG ARE THE SHIPPING BOXES?1 answer
A:
All Bellawood material is boxed in 72" boxesQ:
How much does a box of flooring weigh? We have to bring a number of boxes home and need to know what size truck to bring. Thanks!1 answer
A:
Each box of this material will weigh in at 58.98lbs
