Now you can get the sophistication and eco-friendliness of Bamboo floors in an easy-to-install product by Schön Engineered Quick Clic prefinished floors with an aluminum oxide-based finish and an extra thick wear layer, these Bamboo floating floors are a snap to install! Schön Engineered Quick Clic bamboo flooring is constructed with a real, thick-sawn bamboo veneer atop a core consisting of layers of plywood. The core layers are precisely stacked with the grain of adjacent plies perpendicular to each other. This construction design provides greater stability as each layer offsets the next to counteract normal movement as the wood responds to the effects of moisture and temperature change. Quick Highlights: Natural Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision. We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

I doubted the claims that this would be the easiest click-lock flooring to install but it was true. I love this product for ease of installation, durability and it's just beautiful. Would definitely use it again and have recommended to several people.

Very easy to install and went in quickly. Some tricky things to sort around doors and odd room configuration but overall came out great.

I wrote a review on 8-21-11 for the Schön Quick Clic Engineered 9/16" x 5" Natural Strand Bamboo Quick Clic (product type ending in 1547). I rated only 3 stars because of the color it turned when water got under the flooring. Well, after about 2 months, it completely dried out and the natural color returned such that you could never tell it got wet. I was impressed, and very glad that the original color returned! So I'm revising the rating to 4 stars. If you do get water under this stuff, just have patience and it will eventually return to its original color!

From the beginning...
Store, transaction, help with selection, and loading 31 boxes were great.
The boxes are relatively small, 6 foot long and ~8x8 inches at 33 pounds, easy to handle.
Product comes out of the package clean and ready to cut and install.
Cuts cleanly (compound slide mitre saw here) and trick cuts go fast with sabre saw.
Installation goes quickly over the Eco-Silent underlay. Does require a little coaxing from the rubber mallet on occasion. KEEP A CLEAN JOB. Any little piece of wood, drywall, or crud will keep these finely engineered slots from locking properly.
Easy to install if you know what you are doing.
Looks great right from the start.
Easier to clean due to microedges which very nearly close completely.
Service and delivery comments:
Vic and Randy at the store in Orlando were most helpful and efficient. The loading went smoothly. The product was in stock and the ordered trim pieces came in on time.

We thought the color was to bright after looking at the sample, but after laying it out it came out better than just looking at the sample. I was surprise that there wasn't any damages found within each case. The planks was also thicker than the samples we got from the other hardware stores.
We also bought the Eco Silent Underlayment which was easy to apply.
Service and delivery comments:
The guys at the Las Vegas LL, especially Dillon was awesome. He answered our questions and he didn't talk down to us even though he knew this was our first time installing the floors. I made a mistake in ordering the wrong molding and they didn't give us any problems returning the items. I got 4 more rooms to go and will be back to buy from them again.

Comments about Schön Quick Clic Engineered 9/16" x 5" Natural Strand Bamboo Quick Clic:
We did 3 bedrooms with this bamboo. It was easy to install. The 10" chop saw cuts all the way through except at 45-deg angle where you have to finish with the table saw. Placed Quiet Walk floor underlayment between the bamboo and concrete slab.
The local supplier had everything we needed, so pickup was as fast as I could get the a truck there.
One area is very high traffic, and the finish is standing up to it very well (4 months now).
Absolutely intolerant of water though. If water gets down to the underlayment and stays wet for a few days, the bamboo will turn an awful shade of dark brown and black. This happened in one area due to a plant water overflow. For this reason alone, I would never use this stuff again and would prefer tile.
If not for the water staining problem, I would have rated it a 5 as it does look very nice and seems to be very hard.

We installed this flooring in our living room & dining room almost 2 years ago. Two kids and six cats have barely made a mark on it. We love it so much we decided to replace the old carpet in our bedrooms with it too. I did a 10x10 bedroom in just a couple days - now off to boys #2 room. It goes down so easy and wears great! This is a floating floor and it does give a little, so I would not recommend this for someone using a wheelchair.
Service and delivery comments:
I ordered this product online then picked it up in the store. There were a couple of banged up boxes that were reordered without hesitation. The store employees were more concerned with mixing lot colors than us - we like the variety in color. They were very helpful and courteous. Will do it again the same next time.

Comments about Schön Quick Clic Engineered 9/16" x 5" Natural Strand Bamboo Quick Clic:
OK. I'm a 60 year old semi-competent low-level DIYer and this is my first floor installation. My husband was gone on a boys trip and I thought it would be cool to have him come home to a nice, newly decorated room. Besides, the grandkids are due in a few days and our old floor was hurting. My 24 yo son gave support on this job - mainly he was the cutter and lugger. We tackled an 11.5 x 15 floor with an older plywood subfloor that had at one time been covered with w2w carpet. No problem with moisture, no concrete, walls pretty square. I started by painting the ceiling and walls, 2 coats, along with Kilz in spots, and that took a full day + some time the next day for the touch ups and second coat on walls - but the flooring had to acclimatize, so it was time well spent. Next came pulling staples out of the floor, removing the base boards, and covering the plywood with builder's paper. I read all of the reviews and watched the video on installation and took the leap. The first row went in and by the second or third row I realized that the only 'tricky' part for me would be to make sure the measurement went from the correct end of the board so that I didn't cut off the tongue. All 4 sides of the boards have a tongue or groove, so making the cut on the end that will match the board to which the new board joins is important. It really helped to set a series of boards out on the floor ahead of the cutting/snapping so that I could make sure the design was working right, that the direction of the cut would be good, and the color patterning was acceptable. There actually seemed to be little color variation, and all the boards were clean and usable. I started the floor around 10:30 in the morning on a HOT day and we finished by 6, ripping the last run with my little circular saw. I made few mistakes, and even though we bought only 9 boxes, which was less than the recommended 5% over real dimension, we finished with little waste and plenty of left over boards. Our room helped a lot, since it was just one giant rectangle with no frills. there was a threshold where the last run went in, which could not easily be removed. Instead, I cut a board long enough to extend the width of the threshold, snapped it in next to the threshold, then pounded it along until it moved under the threshold. That worked. Then it was just a matter of ripping and fitting the last board in place.
My husband came home in time for the final board, and there was much high-fiving in the family. The room looks a million times better - new paint, new floor; hard to beat that. Now the rest of the house looks drab. Darn.

Q:
I installed the product about 3 weeks. Now I am noticing it squeaks when I walk over it and the places that squeak are increasing.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Noise from from floating bamboo flooring is almost always caused by deflection in the subfloor; an unlevel or weak subfloor. In addition, temperature and humidity flux beyond our manufacturer recommendations can be a factor (see installation instructions) .Q:
Can this product be sanded and refinished? If so, how many times?1 answer
A:
Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished. Solid hardwood that is ¾” thick may be refinished 4 to 7 or more times depending on how much wood was taken off on each refinishing. Low profile solid wood flooring like 5/16” thick flooring may be able to be refinished twice if the flooring is in good shape. Engineered flooring with a 1/8” wear layer or more will be able to be refinished at least once. If the engineered product has a 1/16” wear layer a professional sander may be able to refinish it, but many won’t take the chance in case they make a mistake and take too much off the wear layer. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:

Will this change color over time? How quickly, and does it get lighter or darker or more yellow? Is there UV protection available?1 answer
A:
All wood species can change color over time due to oxidation or when exposed to light. In some species, the change can be more dramatic and may darken in color over time, while others tend to lighten. Currently there is no known value set for Patina or color change of a species so contractors and or customers should be aware of this normal condition. The patina process is unrelated to the urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
What is the thickness of the wear layer?1 answer
A:
The wear layer on this flooring is 1.6MM - the planks are normally approximately 36" longQ:
I have 3 dogs who run in and out of the house. I'm worried that their toenails would scratch up the bamboo floor. Any information?1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Q:
for installation over vinyl with a plywood underlayment, do you need to remove the vinyl? The vinyl is in good shape and is not coming up in any spot.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
If vinyl is well bonded, flat, level, and not spongy vinyl you can float this floor over it with an approved underlayment; either 3mm Cork, Foam Underlayment, Eco Sound, or Quiet Walk underlayment for floating floors.Q:
Can a "Swifter" be used on stranded bamboo flooring?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.
