time consuming for a beginner, but great look once done. sticky backing got all over hands and made everything dirty, but dark colour hides it. but it stays in the grooves and needs a good cleaning to not leave feet dirty. works on a floor that is not completely level.

Very easy installation! Prep work essential. I vacuumed the floor with a shop vac, wet mopped it and then vacuumed again. During installation I had slight problems removing the backing paper and then getting glue on my hands. Glue did seep thru edges able to remove it with adhesive remover. Floor looks great in my office and I did it myself!!!!

            • Basement Sun Room

Two years ago when we installed this in the rec room in our basement the installation process was a breeze and the product stayed put..for the most part. It has held up well and cleans easily. This year we decided to use this product throughout the basement. The manufacturer has really changed the adhesive since 2012. It has been the most infuriating, lengthy process. It is like trying to put large strips of EXTRA STICKY fly paper on your floor..the glue gets everywhere. Continually washing our hands with gasoline, goo gone.. hot water and soap doesnt cut it. I would rather put a MAYBE for recommendation...depends on how frustrated you want to be.

I replaced carpet on my stairs and landings with this product. Was very inexpensive, noise level is low, looks great, easy to clean. The stair nose is pricey but is the only way to go. I will be doing the rest of my stairs and buying this product again. Pics to come!

                Best Uses

After reading the reviews on this product, i thought it would be a great inexpensive product to replace our current flooring. It was super easy to install, but we have had it down now for months now and the edges and corners of most of the pieces still are not laying down and sticking. We installed this over our current laminate flooring after a thorough cleaning and sweeping. We also had parts of this installed on a new concrete floor and we are having the same issues with the tiles not sticking on that surface as well. I'm not sure if maybe this was a result of how the company stored the product (outside in the sun) or something else, but our experience with this product has been one of great frustration.

                  GOOD VYNIL FLOOR

I installed this vynil floor on 1 bedroom apartment, so far this vynil is good, you have to work a lot removing the paper on the back of the vynil, I installed 550 sq. feets in about ten hours with a helper but you have to spend good time cleaning your subfloor otherwise this floor won't stick on your subfloor, affordable price, good looking vynil. I hope stay nice for good time, I will update this review if I notice something different.

My only complaint about the guy who help me in this transaction is to smile a little bit and don't show like He doesn't want to be there (NO attitude) finally He supposed to give a great costumer service.

I wish I would have never ordered this flooring. Ive been fighting with it for weeks now. I filled all the holes in my concrete floor right down to the smallest crack. I got adhesive primer and put down 2 coats. Even with all the prep the floor wont stick well. I've been using the other unopened boxes of flooring to weigh it down and after 3-4 days of being weighted down it sticks, but not great. I wish I could go back and undo this purchase all together. I know it will look fine once its done, but im getting very sick of gluing down almost each corner. Everytime I walk over the floor I find an edge or corner thats lifting. I give up!!! Guess I will have to break down and use vinyl floor adhesive, which is what I was hoping to avoid with thjs flooring. The seams are almost impossible to get perfect, it seems they buckle up if they are to close, or you can see the edges of each piece if not. This flooring will have to work for the time being, but in a few years I will probably install a floating floor over this one. Complete waste of money and too much time, effort and anger....Maybe it would stick better on a wood subfloor or maybe my concrete floor was rougher....I dont know - and Im very much over messing with it. Still have 3 more rooms in my basement to do, Im not lookong forward to it. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FLOORING.

I would get a good blade for cutting this product and make sure you clean the sub floor very well before installation. If its concrete I would just wet mop it first with a little ammonia and then use the shop Vac to remove any further debris.
This product is very attractive and the pattern looks like real wood. This product has come a long way since the 80's.

We recommend using the Dream home cleaner. Using the steam mop would be at your own risk the moisture could affect the adhesive and cause the planks to break its bond.

I don't believe that this floor will mitigate sound as much as I wish so I would like to install it in tandem with an underlayment. What product would work best with a vinyl peel and press floor? AS the installation guide recommends the use of luan to insure a level floor, should I install underlayment on the existing plywood subfloor, and then install a layer of luan on top of the underlayment to insure the planks will adhere to the floor?

I am considering using this for the flooring in a boat remodel. I seen in a previous Q&A that a moisture barrier should be used for homes with a crawl space and the crawl space should be at least 18". Any recommendations for using it in a cabin cruiser? The majority of the flooring will have >18" of bilge/engineroom below the sub-floor. The sub-floor is painted 3/4" plywood, which I would sand, vacuum and wipe down prior to installation.

I need a flooring material for our single story concrete slab radiant floor in a new home construction. We successfully cooled our floor all summer to 72F by running 60F water through the floor. Our indoor relative humidity is seldom over 40% and usually 29% in a desert region of MT. We had no condensation problems last summer anywhere in the house. Is the R value of the Tranquility vinyl planking so low that we should not expect any moisture problems between the concrete and the flooring? Our BIG Low E windows claim to stop 99% of harmful uV, so do we still have to worry about fading? Thanks much in advance, Mike.

I am not aware of any "color-fastness"/ fading issues with this product.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

                                    MAINTENANCE (Dos and DONTs)
                                    DO
                                    • Sweep or vacuum regularly.
                                    • Use cleaning products safe for vinyl planks.
•TEST cleaning products before use. Mineral spirits applied to a clean rag can be used for spot cleaning.
•Use non-staining casters, floor protectors on chair and table legs to distribute furniture weight and protect against scratches and
indentation damage. (TRANQUILITY planks are scratch resistance, not scratch proof).
                                    • Protect your floor against burns. Planks can be damaged by burns from a cigarette, matches, or other extremely hot items.
                                    • Protect your floor from tracked-in dirt and grit particles by using natural-fiber mats at all outside entrances. Take the time to
remove any imbedded grit particles from shoe soles before entering the room. Mats with rubber backings can cause permanent
                                    discoloration.
                                    • TRANQUILITY planks have good resistance to stains, not affected by most common household spills; however, any spill should be
cleaned up immediately. The longer the spilled material is left on the floor, the greater the risk of permanently staining the floor.
                                    DO NOT
                                    • Do not use paste wax or solvent-based polishes.
                                    • Do not use abrasive cleansers or mop with soap-based detergents, these products can leave a sticky film on your floor.
                                    • Track in tar or asphalt from driveways, as this can also discolor vinyl.
                                    • Use caution with stiletto type high heels on your floor, these can cause permanent damage.
                                    • Avoid the use of rubber or latex-backed mats, as certain rubber compounds can permanently stain vinyl
(Consult the mat manufacturer to determine if the backing is safe for vinyl planks).
                                    • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for prolonged periods; this can result in tile discoloration. Excessive temperatures might cause tile
expansion or edge curling. During peak sunlight hours, the use of drapes or blinds is recommended especially on patio doors, etc.,
                                    that receive intense sunlight.
                                    • (TRANQUILITY Peel and Stick planks are water-proof, however high moisture from the subfloor or flood mopping can adversely
affect the glue bond). DO NOT WASH INSTALLATION FOR 48 HOURS

Ceramic flooring subfloors shall be treated in the same manner as a concrete subfloor, with additional precautions. Surface coating or sealers must be completely removed by light sanding or other suitable effective methods and shall be filled or flat to a smooth surface with latex Portland cement-based patching compound.
                                    • If these are to be used as a subfloor these must be checked for moisture and bond tests conducted.
                                    • Remove all sealer, varnish, wax, oils and soil to prevent bond interference.
                                    • Make surfaces level and smooth using a latex Portland cement-based patching compound

This floor is installed all through our house and seems to be very easily scratched. Moving the couch or other furniture and especially a little wooden rocking horse we have have left streaks on the floor. Mopping doesn't help (obviously) is there a way I can buffer it?

Wood floors like furniture will scratch and dent if not properly protected. It is recommended to use furniture pads (included in our cleaning kit) under the furniture legs. Pet nails should be kept trimmed and sharp objects (including high heels) kept away from the floor. Often scratches can be adequately repaired using liquid scratch covers. Dents and nicks can be filled using wood floor repair kits available at your local home store. If your floor is severely damaged please consult a professional about refinishing, an individual board replacement may be all that’s needed.
