  • Q:

Acacia flooring - is the finish unwaxed, polyurethane finished wood. I want to clean the floor and bought a cleaner that was for this type of floor only. What do you recommend for cleaning if this product will not work.
Asked on 10/19/2013 by j from Madison, wi

    1 answer

The finish is 7 coats of Treffert or Klumpp (made in Germany) highly resistant polyurethane finish with aluminum oxide anti-scratch and a 55% gloss.

For general cleaning a swiffer type system works best. Not one that sprays the floor however. Lightly damp is fine but never soak or flood mop your floor. Do not use steam mops. Have a no shoes policy as much as possible. Use felt pads on all furniture. Sweep often.

Bellawood Cleaner works well, find here - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/ll/s/flooring-molding-tools-accessories/floor-care-products

In addition, Bona Kemi makes a decent hardwood flooring cleaner.

Do not use oil-type cleaner or wax of any kind.
