Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Quick Highlights:

- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand

Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

  • Q:

is this flooring solid bamboo, or is this made up of other materials?
Asked on 3/6/2016 by OaklandStad from oakland, CA

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Stand bamboo is neither vertical nor horizontal, but woven pieces of fibrous strips. These strips undergo high-pressure heat pressing that produce a substantially heavier bamboo product. Strand can be harder than the traditional horizontal or vertical planks and can be difficult to nail with nailing machines, 18gage cleat nail works best. Another benefit is that the coloration permeates the entire plank.

  • Q:

Where is this product made? And I've read that strand bamboo is the hardest product on the market and more resistant to moisture. I've also read that if you want wood in your bathroom, strand bamboo is the way to go, so why don't you recommend it for the bathroom?
Asked on 4/3/2015 by JODY from Daytona Beach

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

This flooring is Made in China, and is not subject to CARB (although we ensure that it does) and it is perfectly safe.
We abide by CARB regulations. See - http://www.lumberliquidators.com/sustainability/health-and-safety/?
Due to the excessive moisture present in a full bath we cannot recommend any of our solid natural flooring or laminate products for this application, I would suggest one of our engineered or vinyl Tranquility products. We have a 2mm peel and stick and now a 4 and 5mm click together products that can go in full bath areas or where moisture is a concern. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

What is the best way to clean the flooring? Can you use a damp mop or a steam mop?
    Asked on 1/9/2015 by Monica

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

How deep does the finish (color) penetrate? If you were to get a scratch could the scratch be sanded and refinished?
Asked on 12/20/2014 by Gayle from Northglenn, CO

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

The white stain does not penetrate this bamboo very deeply.
It would be difficult to do a sand/stain & refinish on this product, I would do a minor touch up or a board replacement.
Typically we use touch up pens or markers for minor scuffs and scratches. These are available at all home centers in the paint dept. The best ones to use will for minor scuffs look like a magic marker with wood stain used instead of colored ink. for deeper scratches they also carry colored crayons and matching putty, They have a wide assortment and if you take a board or a piece of scrap you should be able to match the colors.
Thank you for your interest in our flooring products.

  • Q:

How does the finish on the Pearl City floor hold up on a kitchen with a high traffic area? Will the finish hold up under a lot of wear?
Asked on 12/11/2014 by Jo from Longs, sc

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.
