Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury.

Quick Highlights:
- Real Bamboo
- Eco-Friendly
- Easy Floating "Click-Together" installation
- 30 Year Warranty

Strand
Twice as hard as oak, strand bamboo is an optimal choice for busy homes when durability is needed to stand up to the wear and tear of family foot traffic, active kids and even pets.

To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure.  This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty.

And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

It's simple...
Eco-Friendly. Beautiful look. Beautiful price.

      A:

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk. Thank you for your inquiry.
How do I care for my floor / which cleaning products are best?

  • Q:

Can this flooring be glued to a 2x6 subfloor? Or does it need a plywood sheeting subfloor?
Asked on 9/27/2015 by bizzle from oregon

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

This flooring may be Floated per instructions over your subfloor. However, when gluing this flooring, the 2" x 6" subfloor may expand and contract at different rates than the flooring causing adhesion failure. Isolate this movement by laying at least ½" plywood before installing.

If you opt for gluedown; plywood needs to be laid with 1/8" gaps for expansion (1/2" expansion around perimeter) and use ring shank nails or steel screws on a 6-8 inch pattern over joists. Stagger new plywood over old to prevent matching seams or run perpendicular to old. Liquid Nail between is a good idea too but not completely necessary.

  • Q:

Would this flooring be suitable in a dining room setting - chair movement etc?
    Asked on 9/1/2015 by asil

      A:

Yes this product can be used in a dining room, floor protectors are recommended.
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

How good is bamboo for water, can it be used in kitchen and bathroom.... How much better is it to flooding mdf floors
Asked on 7/18/2015 by Kenny roger from Monkland ,ontario

    1 answer

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Bamboo like wood flooring is acceptable in kitchens but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly. Strand type bamboo is a very hard and dent resistant flooring material and is a good consideration for kitchens.

  • Q:

My (independent) installer said that my upstairs area was small enough that I didn't need to use T-molding transitions in the doorways between connected rooms. I like the seamless transitions that would allow for but I'm curious whether it would cause gaping. Please advise?
Asked on 5/1/2015 by dinacsus from Sacramento, CA

      A:

It could and would be at your own risk.
Per instructions: BEFORE YOU START moisture/ perimeter expansions/expansion breaks
Most installation problems are the result of a lack of expansion around fixed objects or moisture intrusion, see (Moisture Testing).
Do not install this flooring in wet environments such as saunas or full bathrooms subject to steam, high humidity or excess moisture. A perimeter expansion space of ½" must be left around the walls and at all fixed objects. In addition, Morning Star Clic floating installation requires expansion breaks and T-Molding transitions be installed between adjoining rooms, in hallways, and at all doorways to allow for normal independent floor movement and environmental fluctuations. No spans of floating applications can exceed 30' in width or length without and expansion break. Failure to meet these requirements can result in the floor buckling, separating or finish problems.
