I decided to put this in my rental instead of replacing the carpet, again. For the same price as reasonable carpet you can have a water-proof, 50 yr warrantied floor. I installed it in an upstairs game room and hallway.
Installation was as simple as any other click and lock floor. Sub-floor prep was minimal, and I decided to keep the existing trim in place and use shoe molding. Saved time and money and still looks surprisingly good.
I didn't install in the recommended cut pattern in the instructions... I used a random pattern that I've used on other floor installations. I would recommend this. I would also use an underlaying. We used the 3MM (cheap stuff). I tried laying without the underlaying as a sample and the vinyl was loud and "ticked" as you walked over it. Now it has a nice feeling (softer but not flimsy) and is quite.
There are only two slightly negative things about installing this floor. The tongue and grove are brittle and the angle that they slide together are pretty high. So you have to be carful when putting the pieces together or you'll tear the thin groves. Because of the high angle and brittle groves it makes installing under under-cut door jams difficult. Once locked in place the floor is solid and I'm not worried about long term seam wear.
All in all, the floor looks amazing (regardless of price)! It lays well and should last a very long time. I couldn't be happier with the product and the support of lumber liquidator. This looks way better than other cheap laminate that i've laid; But not as good, obviously, as $5+ sq/ft real wood. It looks so good, I'm going to install it downstairs when that carpet wears.

I installed this for a basement finishing project. We have an pool and this is a perfect floor to come in from the pool on. I have had many comments about not even being able to see any lines where the flooring pieces attach together. Installed in a game room, hall, media room and bathroom all connecting together without seams.

just installed...looks great
I purchased this flooring for my townhouse and have been extremely pleased with it. The flooring looks stylish, wood-like and beautiful throughtout my complete downstairs. It is not slippery and cleans up easily. I have not noticed any marks on it from my dog or grandchildren and find it to be quite durable. This flooring turned out to be exactly what I wanted and needed. I recommended it to two neighbors who are also having it installed in their townhouses.

We put it in our kitchen. It was pretty easy to put down. Looks really nice. Does resemble actual wood planking.
On the down side there were quite a few pieces that had defects in them. Luckily were able to still use most of them. They do kind of show a rolling pattern from manufacturing.
The true test will be how it wears.

You may install without underlayment. Underlayment is an unnecessary option and not all will work with Tranquillity Flooring.Q:

If the vinly flooring planks do become wet from a cat urine accident, what is the best way to clean it and the underlayment if one is used? Is it possible to remove a few planks to clean thoroughly so as not to leave an odor? How does the ECO underlayment hold up to cat urine. I am considering using vinyl floor planks to replace a smelly carpet and pad. Thanks.1 answer
