Be aware of interlocking fit and placement

By captain pappy

Looks great, great price. Difficult to interlock and keep alignment straight. Difficult to keep a tight fit between planks. Overall very happy with product. Pay attention to detail.

Love the look, hated the installation :-)

Pros

  • Beautiful, thick, super easy to cut

Cons

  • Some pieces a little difficult to get together

Best Uses

Seeing as this was my first time laying a floor like this, it did take a few rows to get the hang of it. Some pieces snap then slide together beautifully, while others do not. I had a lot of pieces that had damaged tongues on the left-hand side. I simply used these pieces against the left-hand wall. After some trial & error (and a little cursing) the floor came together and I must say it is gorgeous and should last a very long time.

    Service and delivery comments:

Everything I needed was in stock at my local store. Easy breezy.

Perfect for entryways or any place with possible moisture, but still want the look of wood. Have used this product in multiple houses and will continue to do so.

The look of this flooring is stunning. I cannot stop looking at it. It looks like wood but it's not. We put it in our master bathroom and it matches a laminate that we purchased our master bedroom. The overall look is fantastic.

        • Q:

We are considering using this for about 450 Square feet of basement floor in a split level addition to the house. The lower level has about 9 steps going down to the lower level where we would be installing the floor. Would there be any way of using this product on the stair treads? I recognize that for the actual floor, this is a floating floor and cannot be "fastened" to the subfloor in anyway. However, could an adhesive be used on the stair threads with the product so that the steps have the same look and feel? Would the product hold up to this kind of use?

        • Q:

Hello, I am going to be installing new IKEA kitchen cabinets with new granite counter tops (which will be very heavy), but have not installed the 4mm Pioneer Park Sycamore Click Resilient Vinyl yet.

Can I install the planks first, and then the cabinets and granite on top? I believe ikea cabinets rest on legs, covered by kick panels. Can the floating floor withstand this, or will the cabinets be too heavy and/or close to the wall? Or do i need to install the cabinets on the sub floor first and then vinyl around it?

          Thank you!
