Handcrafted plank by plank, the French bleed is done the traditional way by rubbing the stain on the plank edge. A beautiful look reproducing the working technique of the craftsmen of bygone times. Colonial American homes were built with wooden floors that were sawn using basic hand-held tools. The hand-crafted workmanship that went into those floors can be found in Virginia Mill Works handscraped floors. About Engineered: A birthday cake without frosting? Lumber Liquidator$

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Potomac Plank Handscraped:
The people in the store were very helpful and accommodating. The product was delivered sooner than expected. It does require at least 2-3 people to install. It is time consuming and hard work but the end result was beautiful. Make sure you give yourself 3-4 days to get the job done, depending on the size of your room.

I bought this flooring for a great deal a week ago at [$] a sqft. Floors look great! Love the handscape and look of the floors. Easy to clean and keep clean. I had a company install the floors. I would highly recommend these floors and the color is just right, not to bright or dark.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Potomac Plank Handscraped:
Installers were very nice. It would be good to get more information when buying product about cleaning and what is needed. We were short a box of wood and purchased a large amount. I would think floor cleaner could be given as a perk. Also were not told we needed to buy register vents with covers and are still waiting on them to come in.

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Potomac Plank Handscraped:
After helping house-train a neighbor's puppy and a wetter-than-usual spring that meant lots of muddy paws on my white carpet, I bit the bullet and ordered the Potomac Plank. I chose LL based on positive comments from other customers and lousy service from [@] vendor. I was satisfied with the answers to my questions and with the pricing. It's only been installed for a couple days so I can't comment on durability. My neighbor has already asked for the details so she can install the same floor throughout her house this summer.
Service and delivery comments:
Got the installer through LL's Home Service vendor who delivered the product. Reuben & his team were fabulous. (There were five young installers in my home for two days and they were very experienced and professional.)

We just completed a huge remodel of our home. We had our floors installed by professionals (1500 sf) after having all of the old ceramic tile removed! Wow! Our house was white everywhere, walls, floors, cabinets etc. These floors add warmth and are so beautiful! We have a dog and have not noticed any scratches, used felt pads when placing our furniture back on the floor. I am so happy with our choice of flooring, we have 5 boxes left and are planning on buying two more to replace carpet in our bedroom! Lumber Liquidators was a great resource for our project, I would recommend them!

Comments about Virginia Mill Works 1/2" x 5" Potomac Plank Handscraped:
Easy to install. Important to go throught the boxes and mix your pieces so your color will be even.
Overall the end result looks very good. The color is a nice one, not to light not to dark. However take note, the finsihed look is a more informal floor not the fancy highgloss, which is what we were going for, handscraped informal.
Good value for the money.Seems to be holding up to use pretty well.

Q:
How is this floor laid in a reverse position? We will be going down a hall and then have bedrooms on both sides. Is there a way to reverse the direction you are laying?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes. Splines are used to reverse the direction of your tongue and groove flooring such as installing rooms off a hallway or center-out installations. These can be found at your local Lumber Liquidators or any homecenter.Q:
Do these floors have a polyurethane coating on them? If not, what type of coating? I see different cleaning instruction online for floors with polurethane versus the wax coatings. Thank you. The floors are beautiful.1 answer
A:
Yes this has a polyurethane coating on it.Q:
what is the length of each piece? I am looking for flooring that is 6 to 8' long. Any suggestions?1 answer
A:
Other than our unfinished pine flooring and our 6' bamboo, products come in random lengths 1' to 7'.Q:
Do you need to allow this floor time to acclimate to the environment before installing and if so how much time is appropriate?1 answer
A:
All wood products are affected by environmental conditions, especially prefinished materials.Q:
Are there any red undertones in the Potomac Plank?1 answer
A:
This product question would be better answered by our Sales Department, they are more familiar with all of our flooring products and can better assist you with your questions.Q:
Is this a true floating floor using tongue and groove connection.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No. This is a Float, Glue, Nail tongue and groove floor. Floating will require a tongue and groove glue method (outlined in instructions). See - www.lumberliquidators.com/assets/images/installation/va_millworks_engineered.pdfQ:
My wife and I are considering this flooring for our kitchen, dining room, main entryway and hallway in our new construction home. My question is about durability...we have 2 boys (ages 5 and 2). How will this flooring hold up under normal wear and tear of two young children?1 answer
A:
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.Q:
Can this floor be sanded and finished again?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Handscraped flooring can be refinished with an abrader type sander like a FA-8: The Floor AbraderQ:
Who and where is the product made?1 answer
A:
This particular Va. millworks product is made from Asian Birch so it is manufactured and finished in ChinaQ:
What are the average lengths of the planks? I don't want the floor to look busy and would prefer a longer plank.1 answer
A:
Handscraped materials average 36" due to the texturizing of the material
