Mayflower- 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch- Prefinished Engineered Flooring- 10 Year Warranty Mayflower engineered flooring is constructed with a real hardwood veneer atop a core consisting of layers of plywood. The core layers are precisely stacked with the grain of adjacent plies perpendicular to each other. This construction design provides greater stability as each layer offsets the next to counteract normal movement as the wood responds to the effects of moisture and temperature changes. Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
this flooring looks great and I wish we would have installed it much earlier. We have a dog and 2 boys...we installed it in our office. And there is not a scratch. We even dropped a heavy drawer, and it didn't even dent it. I was sceptical because of the price, but it's a great product. I would recommend it to anyone.

Love the floor. Now I will say that it does seem like the corners will chip easy. But hoping a brown marker will fix that. Make sure you check the edges, I have one box so far that the edges was all the way finished and once they were installed you would see white lines. But it was no biggie for me since they were under the bed. Right now I would recommend but we are still remodeling and haven't moved in.

Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
I installed this in a master bedroom and it looks great. Relatively easy to install--I did about 350 sq ft all by myself in about 12 hours (not including the time to prep the subfloor)and I am only slightly handy. What I liked about it was that the color, finish, and milling was very uniform through all 12 boxes of material.
It seems to scratch and indent pretty easily so I don't think I would put it in a really high traffic area but for lower traffic areas it is such a great price and looks beautiful.

Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
We installed this engineered hardwood on our entire first floor: living room, dining room, office, and even in our kitchen. It was pretty easy to install being that it was our first time laying floors. My husband handled most of the awkward cuts but together we did a great job. The wood does kind of scratch easily, and if something sharp hits it, you better believe there will be a dent. But once we laid the floors I made sure to put pads on all of our furniture's feet and so far we've done well with it. We don't have any kids to bang it with toys or a dog but it's held up great the past few months. If you want to see more about it, go here: www.mysocalledhome.com

The floors are in our master bedroom and daughter's room. We also have a dog. A small picture fell in my daughter's room and there is a dent in the floor, plus scratches everywhere from the dog and toys. Sad and disappointed!

Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
The wood looks great installed, installed easy using power cleat nails. The instructions were ok, explained the basics.
The wood scratched too easy, the top flakes off very easy and the seams as tight as they are still chip away. This wood is ok for an area that is less traveled.
I would stay away from this wood and spend the extra money on something thicker, this was my first engineered wood and it has left a bad taste in my mouth. I was thinking that engineered was not like laminate and i was wrong. I would stay away from this wood, if you have the money buy something better. If you dont have the money, wait til you do. I hope this helps.

Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
This flooring is beautiful installed. We installed it in 3 bedrooms, a large hall and an office on the second floor. The Birch is very thin 5/16 which we were aware of and since these are low traffic areas for the most part we went ahead. While putting the funiture and finishes on the rooms when we finished installing we scratched a couple of places which were fixed easy enough, but can see that it would not be a great floor for a high traffic area. I am sad that we can not finish with this affordable flooring in the rest of the house, but instead have to get something to match that is more durable. We installed it by nailing 18g 1/2in brads with 15lb felt paper under the flooring. The floor went in quickly and if we could have had it available to us in store instead of waiting for delivery it would have been perfect. We have ordered the trim and hope not only will it get here in a timely manor, but will match the flooring. All in all it is beautiful and looks much more expensive that it was. If I was flipping this house I would put it throughout, you can afford it at that price, the return would be 4 fold!

My husband and I want hand scraped hardwood floors but since we dont intend to stay in this house more than a few more years, we decided not to spend the $$$ and found this this product instead. After seeing it installed we dont feel like we cheated ourselves on this flooring at all. You definitely get your bang for the buck. We love how it looks in our master bedroom, livingroom, and dining room. Its a sophistacated finish and looks really refined. Its a steal of a deal. We had the installers do the trim themselves. They brought the raw trim with them and color matched the stain on site. It was WAY cheaper to go that route. We had it professionally installed and they were able to install roughly 800 sq ft including staining/sealing the trim in just 5 hours so for the pros it wasnt too difficult to install. I dont see this flooring taking any more work to care for than any other hardwood flooring. It is gorgeous.

Comments about Mayflower 5/16" x 5" Praline Birch:
Looks great in dining room, kitchen and hallway; these are adjoining floors that needed same flooring to make areas look unified. Results were like designer tastes on a shoestring budget. Very happy with product's performance with pets and children.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery on the trim took longer than expected to receive in the store but associate made it right with me in the end. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
