  • Q:

I ordered this 5/8th stair nose for my 5/8ths carbonized strand bamboo floor installation. The stair nose will not overlap my flooring. Apparently, what you are measuring as 5/8ths is the entire thickness of the stair nose, not just the thickness of the rise. What should be used is 7/8ths stair nose for a 5/8ths flooring, correct?

⅝" carbonized strand bamboo is tongue and groove construction and requires a tongue and groove nose. This nosing has an overlap edge that covers the expansion gaps used for floating click bamboo which is ½" thick.

  • Q:

I am confused as to the correct step nose to use on a raised platform. I am installing Bambo Clic flooring (1/2" x 5"), Item #10023754. Imagine a hallway with a 7" step onto a 3x3 platform at the end of it. On the other side you step down 7" into a bathroom.

My invoice shows that I purchased #10025099 stairnose. It seemed that one side of the click tile very loosely fit into the groove at the end of the nosepiece. However, for the opposite side I seems that I would have to flush mount my planks against it.

Looking at this website I found a recommendation to someone else to use product 10020740 with the 1/2' flooring. However, from the picture it too seems to have a groove at the end opposite the bullnose.

To further confuse things, my invoice has product #10002887 on it but shown as cancelled. This piece too doesn't seen quite what I believe would work best.

Can you make a recommendation for me?

can i get the mesurments for this so we can lay the floor

We recommend waiting for all parts before starting the installation because of potential differences or site variables in dimension. Nosing is generally installed first and flooring worked away from it for best appearance.

  • Q:

I am installing Morning Star 1/2" x 5" Clic Strand Carbonized Bamboo on a second floor. We need a stair nosing and were directed to the Prefinished Strand Carbonized Bamboo Stair Nose to transistion from the second floor to the the stairs.
Is this the right Stair Nose to use?
    How do I fasten it?
The nosing states it is 5/8" thich while the Clic Strand is listed as 1/2 in thick. I am using the Bellawood premium underlayment - do I assume it does not go undet the stair nose?

I also see there is a Prefinsihed Strand Carbonized Overlap Bamboo Stair Nose which is listed as 9/16th thick. Is this the proper or better choise with the clic stand bamboo. If yes then I have the same installation question - how should I fasten it?

PRQCBAMSTC5SN nose will not fit, it is designed for a tongue and groove floor. You want SKU: 10020740.

Pre-drill, nail and glue for safety. Countersink nails and fill with matching filler.
