Comments about Prefinished Strand Carbonized Bamboo T-Molding:

Bought these floors on sale in April; great price and easier to install than expected. Installed 700+ square feet and there were few warped or cracked boards. Only regret is that we didn't get enough to do the stairs and second floor.

Service and delivery comments:

None - flooring was in stock.

Does not present a tripping hazard, great. Do not use nail gun to fasten, could split the T- Moulding. Recommend pre drilling holes then glue and nail down. We had to replace one because a nail gun was used and it split

This T-Molding can tilt up to 1/4" or you could use a threshold (SKU: 10009929) and shave/plane off the leg to accommodate the 1/4" drop.

                                        A:

T-Molding between two wood floors of the same height - Lay the
T-Molding in place to determine proper fit. To attach the T-Molding between
two hardwood floors, apply a 1/4 inch bead of construction adhesive to the
top edge on one side of the hardwood floor. Seat the molding in place,
making sure that you have a minimum of a 1/4 inch molding overlap on the
wood flooring on the adjacent floor. Check to make sure that you have also
provided an expansion space between the T-Molding and the wood floor to
handle expansion or contraction (See flooring manufacturer’s recommendations
                                        on required space).

For a floating bamboo floor; T-molding for this type of floor does not come with a u-track as with some floating laminate floors. You can use a urethane adhesive in a caulking tube and apply a thick bead of adhesive directly to the subfloor and sit the molding in place allowing the bottom of the T-molding to sit into the adhesive. Apply weights on top of the molding until the adhesive cures. If the bottom of the molding does not reach the subfloor, cut a shim and glue it to the bottom of the t-molding and once cured glue the whole piece to the subfloor.

What is the best way to install T-molding. I see u-tracks but don't see if it is best to use a u-track or to use adhesive. If I use adhesive, how do I install when the T-molding is not as thick as the carbonized stranded bamboo? Do I just butt the t-molding up to either side of the flooring and insert the bottom part of the t into the opening? What is in the space b/t the bottom of the T-mold and the floor? I'm not seeing any specific instructions on this. I need to transiton from bamboo to bamboo in one room and bamboo to tile in another room.

The overall width is 2", but what is measurement for the portion that rests on the tongue? The part that will remain unseen? Thanks

No, it made by another manufacturer that specializes in matching trims for our flooring products.
