While I'm sure the product will perform as intended, it was difficult to put down alone. would be easier with 2 people. Rolls kept recoiling while trying to align. This was a real pain while working in small spaces. Film overlap is only on one side, so when matching new roll to the just laid roll, alternating direction of roll complicated the install. Rolls are supposed to be 3' x 33'. Rolls varied in width between 35" and 35.75" making contiuation of runs with different rolls a challenge. Specifically, made it difficult to allign the seams without leaving gaps or having to cut thin filler strips.

What type of material is the bellawood premium underlayment made up of? On the site it says"made of primarily recycled content", but what does that mean? I plan to install and live in the US Virgin Islands (in the Caribbean) and am concerned about bugs being attracted to the underlayment material. Can you comment on that?

The material is made up of fabric trimmings from the textile industry (new material only) that would otherwise be thrown away.

                                            A:

Floating floors are ideal for Mobile Homes for two reasons.

1st, The base sub-floor of these homes are prone to movement or future sagging.

2nd, The sub-floors are usually made of a Particle type board, a high quality board though not designed for a lasting nail-hold of traditional nail-down Hardwood floorings

The advantages of installing floating floors, such as engineered wood or laminates is that it’s not attached to the sub-floor. Therefore the new floor will not be affected by the sub-floor’s movement, and are less expensive to install by not having to remove the base floor.

However, a more traditional Hardwood nail-down installation can be accomplished if the Mobile home has a permanent, fixed foundation. In addition, for a lasting nail hold, any inferior sub-floorings should be removed or resurfaced using a minimum 5/8” plywood, 23/32” AdvanTech or 23/32” OSB (Oriented Strand Board)

I am concerned that this underlayment will give a sagging effect to the floor when walking on it. Similar to a floating hardwood floor. Should I use the Bella Premium or a thinner underlayment to Get a more solid feel when walking on it?

Property management has advised that I require minimum IIC of 60 or more with NO ceiling assembly -- it's bear concrete. I need underlay that is at least 60 IIC with no ceiling assembly? What product can I buy that is guaranteed to work?

The underlayment can cover small imperfections however your subfloor should be as flat, level, and smooth as possible.
