Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

My husband and I had this floor installed in over 800sq/ft of our home 4/13. Entryway, half/bath, kitchen and family room. I fell in love as soon as this floor was finished...then the scratches started showing up....everywhere. We have now turned our home into a shoe free zone and had to ban some of our childrens toys. Bottom line is that if you have small children (we have 4) any pets (dog) dont get this floor.

I'm an avid do-it-yourselfer but this was my first time with a nail-down floor. This was great product to work with. It is very dense, so a sharp blade on your miter saw is really important (depending on the job, you may want a spare blade handy). Because of the fiber type manufacturing, the tongue can tear out if you apply too much pressure with the hammer. Once you get a feel, it is pretty much smooth sailing. I set my nailer at 85psi and it worked like a charm. The floor looks great!

The nail-down installation was harder than anticicpated. [...].But now that it is in, it looks beautiful. Everyone comments on how much it improved the house.

It looks great; but any little scratch shows up in this dark finish. I bought the carbonized, clear/natural finish (it did not say it was stained; but seems to be) thinking it would not show scratches as easily. That still may be the case on deep scratches; but surface scratches show quite easily...

This is a great product that is highly attractive and very durable. We have two dogs, one of which is a 90+ lb Lab and we have no scratches after one year. The only con is that it does show dust/dog hair, but the look of it outweighs the cons.

This flooring is very durable and looks great in any room. Wonderful color, however lacks the shine you would get from say the cherry woods. However, it's Eco friendly and will last a very long time.

I used in four bedrooms and hallway. It looks great. I love the color, it's environmental friendly, easy to clean and I already recomended to friends.

the bamboo dark wood floor is attractive but impossible to keep clean. Any kind of liquid stain will take several attempts to remove. The floor also seems to scratch off easily. If something hits the floor, a piece of the wood will chip off. Having had hardwood floors for many years, I'm surprised and dissapointed with this product. I wish I had asked about stains and that I had been told about the stains issue. It appears that if liquid hits the floor, it gets under the top layer? I do not recommend this product.

Q:
We put radiant heat in our kitchen under a wood sub floor. Over it we are putting the morning star Qing dragon strand bamboo. If we use gradual heat to get the floor adjusted should this be ok to use for radiant heating?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Engineered wood and floating floors (floors not attached to the subfloor) are recommended for radiant heat. However, if you should choose to use solid bamboo for this application note that even species with better dimensional stability characteristics cannot predictably be guaranteed to perform well over radiant heat. Therefore, solid bamboo applications over radiant in-floor heat is not recommended nor warranted. Because of the wide array of in-floor heating systems on the market each with its own features and limitations please consult with your radiant flooring provider for installation methods and application advice.Q:
We have the strand bamboo installed in our home. My wife has recently seen a floor steamer made by shark and wants to know if she can use it on the bamboo foor?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Lumber Liquidators does not recommend "Water brooms" "Wet-Jet Swiffers or steamer type cleaners on laminates, corks or hardwood floors. Although steamers may work well cleaning OTHER types of hard surface flooring, the 130° to 240° heated steam vapor can ruin wood or urethane finish resulting in warped or cupped flooring. Water and wood do not mix well, especially steam. Use these products at your own risk.Q:
Considering the hardness of this product, which type of circular saw blade is recommended? Would it just be the same type of 80-100 tooth combination blade recommended for the hard exotics? Thanks.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
A Combination blade is usually made up of 80 to 100 teeth. This versatile blade cuts a variety of materials very quickly and smoothly, with a minimal amount of splintering. Recommended for cutting Laminates, hardwood the harder exotics and precision miter cutting. $30-$50Q:
I have just recently installed the qing dragon bamboo, I absolutly love it. What can I use to fix little scratches that are not deep? It's only on the finish.1 answer
A:
Often scratches can be adequately repaired using liquid scratch covers. Dents and nicks can be filled using wood floor repair kits available at your local home store. Scuffs can often be removed by rubbing the spot with mineral spirits on a cloth rag. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
Do you recommend using bamboo flooring for the bathroom? What happens if there's a water spill, would bamboo gets damages or warped?1 answer
A:
Bamboo is a very water resistant floor but if you are going to use bamboo I would highly recommend that you purchase a strand bamboo as it is the most durable and stable in that family based on the constructionQ:
If this floor becomes scratched over time do the installers from Lumber Liquidators come to fix it? Or do I need to get someone else? Also if dog urine get on the floor what do you recommend to clean the floor with to sanitize it? I did purchase the floor cleaner. Does this have product have it in?1 answer
A:
Why doesn't the warranty cover scratches and dents?Q:
We have this floor in our living room and would like to extend it into our kitchen and laundry room. Do you suggest this floor in kitchens and laundry rooms?1 answer
A:
Absolutely, our strand bamboo is one of the strongest floors we retailQ:
We live on Lake Ontario and want to install Qing Strand Bamboo. Any concerns with this type of wood and the variance of temperature and moisture? Are there other varieties that might be better?1 answer
A:
This product is quite stable and is a good choice;Q:
Is this considered sealed, and therefore, safe to use a steam mop to clean it?1 answer
A:
We do not recommend steam mops or Roomba Scooba robots on our laminates or on any of our wood floor products. Although appropriate for kitchen sheet vinyl or ceramic tiles, wood, laminate and cork floorings have raw seam edges that can swell or cup with use of these cleaning methods. We recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
