Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

M husband and I purchased this bamboo flooring for our entire first floor in our new home. We knew when buying it that dirt and dust would show a lot (and it is true) but that we were okay with the upkeep. It looks very modern and crisp against our white woodwork and light colored walls - which is what we wanted! The only downside at this point are the slight scratches that are showing, however you cannot really see them unless you are down close to it. We plan to hide the scratches with one of the markers or something. We also have a 60 lb. dog and it has been fine with her so far!

i like the floor and the way it looks....but if i had another option i would have rethought getting this floor.....it does scratch easily...i have 2 children and i am a very clean person...it shows everything....i would not recommend this product in a kitchen because every speck of food or water or anything shows and u have to clean it up immediatly...do not purchase if u have children or animals...

We had this hardwood installed in our entire house (minus the bathrooms/utility room)I really like how the hardwood turned out. The only negative is that it scratches easily and because it's so dark all scratches show.

Product is difficult to cut -- you need extremely sharp blades and have to take your time. The wood is not forgiving if you make a mistake or if you apply unnecessary pressure when using your tools.
When laying out the floor, a number of boards within each box were flawed or had various imperfections. When putting the pieces together, I had to use a mallet and a spare piece to hammer everything together (it was an extremely tight fit).
It took me a long time to decide on what color I wanted to purchase. I finally decided on this one. It is very rich looking that is what I wanted. The disadvanage of this though is that is shows everything (dust etc).

Love the flooring. It makes my area rugs just pop. Wow!
I've installed probably 20 floors in my lifetime. This is my first bamboo floor. I'm halfway through my 33 boxes so far and it seems more durable than I expected. Absolutely gorgeous color. Almost zero waste too.

Seem very solid and scratch resistant.
Many boards came damaged and were not usable. Buy at least one extra box more than what you need.

Good product. Goes together nice if installed properly. All pieces come in the same length, so our waste was less than 2%!!! If you're nailing it down use either finish nails, or, we used "L" flooring nails. Staples will reveal small humps on the surface of the floor. Very hard wood (grass..) and looks great! Only down side is, as with most dark floors, it shows scratches in the finish very easily.

This product is extremely durable and it looks amazing. In fact, I dropped a fireplace log on the floor and it didn't make a scratch.
We had it installed in our living room, library and bedroom. The floor looks amazing and it's very easy to clean. The only problem is that the dark color and shine combined show off every footprint and speck of dirt. I have to clean the floors every single day with a micro cloth and cleaner. It only takes 5 minutes, but it's something to consider.

Q:
I am interested in the Qing Kobra, I want to install on stairs. Can you use both glue and nail down method on stairs?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
For safety, stair parts should be both nailed and glued. Nails can be predrilled, countersunk and holes filled with matching filler. Working from the bottom step to the top step, apply about 1/2" thick bead of adhesive to the back of each board in an "S" type pattern then Nail the tongues.Q:
Just installed this hardwood and am now trying to match th color for my stair treads. Is there a stain color you'd recommend for this dark of a wood, my treads are red oak. Thanks1 answer
A:
You can have this material special ordered at your local store to match the flooring or you could purchase unfinished maple treads and stain them to match the flooringQ:
Okay, am I blind? I see the thickness and the width. What is the length of each plank, please?1 answer
A:
38" and that spec was not actually listed on the website, sorryQ:
I purchased this bamboo flooring and had it installed 6months ago. The floor is starting to look dull and with no shine. Ive been using bona cleaner and see no results. How can I bring the shine back without adding wax?1 answer
A:
Our Bellawood floor cleaner does not contain any polishes ,wax or anything that will build on the surface and is recommended to be used on all our flooring products. I do hear of this scenario often enough and it always prooves out that there was another cleaning product used previously on the floor that may be building up. Most likely once the residue is removed (call Bona for advise) from the original factory finish the floor can be maintained easily using the Bellawood floor cleaner . Thank you for your inquiry.Q:
What is the proper procedure to acclimate this product before installing?1 answer
A:
Acclimation: All wood products are affected by environmental conditions, especially prefinished materials.Q:
We have installed these flooring in all the bedrooms, living room, stairs.. it looks beautiful when cleaned but it makes footprint so easily and leaves marks and any water spill makes that area looks like wrinkled paper.1 answer

I just got my floor and have not installed it yet. After reading other reviews it sounds like it is difficult to install with nails. Would it be better to glue it down instead?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Strand bamboo is very hard and requires an 18 gauge cleat nail to install. Gluedown can also be achieved according to manufacturer instructions however our glues sticks hard to wood subfloor so repairs, if ever needed, may be difficult.Q:
Does this install as a floating floor application or glue down only?1 answer
A:
This is a nail-down or glue-down product.Q:
What exactly does the 30 year warranty cover and who is the warranty through?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
For details on warranty, type "Morning Star Strand" here - www.lumberliquidators.com/custserv/aboutus.jsp?pageName=Flooring101Q:
What size baseboard do I need to cover the expansion gap on this floor?1 answer
A:
Most baseboards are only 1/2" thick so you may need to use additional shoe molding or quarter round, or you may be able to undercut the wall board to provide the extra room for expansion.
