Morning Star Bamboo Flooring is one of the best bamboo floors on the market today. It is produced from old growth bamboo reeds that are at least 4 years old, thereby increasing hardness. Morning Star Bamboo Flooring creates a naturally beautiful and ecologically friendly product that evokes a feeling of luxury. Quick Highlights: Strand To make strand bamboo, shredded bamboo fibers are compressed under extreme heat and pressure. This manufacturing process yields flooring that is even harder and more dense than traditional bamboo floors. Available in a variety of colors to complement and décor, all Morning Star strand bamboo products are finished with premium coating and backed by a 30 year warranty. And, since bamboo is a naturally sustainable grass that re-grows spontaneously after harvest, you can feel good about making an environmentally friendly flooring decision.

I read the complaints about scratching. Wood is wood (in this case bamboo)It is going to show scratches, period. Not to be a wise guy, but if you don't want to see scratches, use concrete. I have 3 dogs, I have a few scratches but it's no big deal. Cleaning bamboo is simple and easy, if you use the proper product. After several trial and errors, I find the BEST product for cleaning bamboo is Bona. It does NOT streak, dries in seconds and does not 'build up'. I used bamboo in my present home in Pa. and am moving to Ca, and am using there as well.

This went down easily. There were several boards that lacked color saturation, so just keep an eye on that as you go. (save those for reserve boards). Very little wastage / overage. Looks great.

When I showed a friend who's a designer the sample of this floor prior to putting it in she said, "You're going to love the way it looks but hate living in it!" I ignored her advice and am devastated about how easily it scratches (like by moving a child's toy on it), how it streaks when cleaned and how it shows every little piece of lint, dust, crumbs, etc. I would not recommend this for a kitchen/living/dining room for a family.

The bamboo is durable and has a beautiful finish. However, it is difficult to clean, shows the dust and dirt. Clean often.

We love our new floors! The color is beautiful and extremely durable. The variations are stunning and it really transformed the room. The only negative I can say is that it shows dirt easily due to the dark color. We are redoing our kitchen and plan to continue these floors throughout, that's how much we love them!

It was easier to install than the snap together type. I used Elastilon over glue. It was a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, it was a breeze.
Elastilon costs more but no fumes. The bamboo itself is great and the color......breathless.

My future wife wanted these as she like the idea tha Bamboo as a renewable material source. We picked the strand because it was hard but I was still concerned. I have to say I love the look and have had no problem concerning scratches. I also highly recommend spending the extra money for glue down.

This floor has been a nightmare!!! I've had to become the kind of hostess that has to tell people to take off their shoes at the door!! We've had the floors installed for about a 2 months. We are still waiting on the transitions. THese floors are very delicate & not worth the money. The LL guy told us that the the floors were very "durable" it's not the case at all. I don't mind the dust and specs as much as I mind knowing I spent so much $$ on theses floors that scratch easily!

Comments about Morning Star 5/8" x 3-3/4" Qing Viper Strand Bamboo:
Incredible look of this floor is a stunning contrast to the white cabinets and appliances we have in our kitchen. Ultra rich look. This flooring is very nice. It was professionally installed, and the custom-made matching vents were a must. We also installed this in our entry way and a small bathroom. We love it. Certainly an upgrade from the cheap old viny flooring that was in when we got the house. Only drawback, it scratches rather easily. Our installer let us keep his touch up pen, and it does a great job of masking the little things. Treat it well, and you'll be fine.

I just purchased this flooring & have questions about installation. I read that bamboo should not be put under cabinets. Why? I have my no cabinets in my kitchen now & was going to install the bamboo all the way to the walls. Also what size nails should I use when nailing this product down. I have Bellawood Premium under layment. I also read that I should open the end of every box & let them acclimate in the room before installing. I am having new drywall and do not want to move flooring in before doing the floor. I currently have the flooring in my house in a spare bedroom that is heated and humidity controlled. We have installed viper strand bamboo in our kitchen and dining room and was told to clean it with a bona hardwood floor cleaner. Unfortunately it's leaving a cloudy streaky film on the floors! What do you recommend cleaning it with that will prevent this from happening? Help1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Bona is generally a good cleaner, it is possible you have a build up. First try damp mopping (not wet) with water to remove as much build up of cleaner. Then you can try our cleaner, use as directed. Keeping the cleaning pad clean is necessary so dirt doesn't smear and streak.Q:
