Comments about Dream Home Quiet Walk Underlayment:

Certainly easy to lay out and tape down, but a pain to cut! Must have been my knife? We're using it in a very old house, very thin sub-floor, under a pre-foamed laminate as a double layer. Good advise from Lumbar Liquidators.

Comments about Dream Home Quiet Walk Underlayment:

I used both the Quiet Walk from Lumber Liquidators and a product called Black Jack from Home Depot. Both gave my 8mm laminate flooring a soft and quiet feel. I found the Quiet Walk to be a tougher material and a little easier to work with. The Black Jack worked well but found that it was more of a foam product and would rip and tear easily. So, for the extra 6 cents per foot, the Quiet Walk was worth it.

                        A:

If laying carpet do as the carpet manufacturer recommends. As for installation of our flooring below grade, any floating flooring can be used. Floating Vinyl plank is the best for areas prone to moisture and requires no moisture barrier like laminate or engineered flooring. A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4-6" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. Then lay an approved underlayment for floating flooring (unless it's padding attached laminate). Foam Underlayment, Eco Silent Sound, Insulayment. Bellawood Premium Underlayment, or Quiet Walk underlayment for floating floors.

Yes and no. It is a great vapor barrier and good moisture barrier however over concrete subfloor we still recommend using 6 mil poly sheeting as a moisture barrier for floating flooring.
