Used as added insulation on the floor the laminate I purchased already had the padding included but since I did not have insulation under my floor I thought this was best to add for noise and moisture.

                            1. Where is this product manufactured? Is ANY part of it made in or come from China?

                            2. The diagrams show the vapor barrier against the laminate flooring and the padding itself against concrete slab. Should there or can there be a vapor barrier directly against the concrete in a basement application?

IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE ADDITIONAL PADDING:
Laminates having pre-attached padding can also be installed over an underlayment. When doing so, Lumber Liquidators recommends the use of Bellawood Platinum, Bellawood Premium, Quiet Walk or the Eco Silent Sound underlayment. These quality underlayments offer best joint/seam support while ensuring superior thermal sound reduction qualities, these properties are highly recommended for use with condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers.

Yes but only with additional 6mil Poly Sheeting Moisture Barrier. A 6 to 8 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams 4-6" and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. Then lay an approved underlayment. In your case Quiet Walk.

For use over concrete, the instructions say you may need the additional moisture barrier which I assume is the poly sheeting. It does not specify if the sheeting goes directly on the concrete or over the vapor barrier, directly under the flooring. I will be installing the Dream Home - St. James 12mm+pad Vintner's Reserve Laminate. Please advise if the sheeting needs to be installed under or over the underlayment.

The 6 mil poly will go directly over the slab (to stop moisture at the source) and then the underlayment and finally the laminate.
