Cons

  • Wont cut easily with a razor blade -use scissors

Comments about Dream Home Quiet Walk Underlayment:

I found using scissors was the way to go instead of razor blade. It is really hard and messy when you need to trim just a little bit off once its installed and hard to get to. We used duct tape to hold it together and it stuck to it pretty well. Use a four foot T-square when marking cuts to make sure your next edge is square otherwise it will be a pain to add the next piece to it! Found out the hard way a few times.

Great underlayment. Used to install bamboo floating floors and it does make it sound quiet. Padded so the floors feel great under my feet! Would buy again. Great price.

Comments about Dream Home Quiet Walk Underlayment:

I have seen reviews where people said this was hard to cut. It astounds me that the manufacturer doesn't just say to cut with a sharp pair of house hold scissors because that works really well. A box cutter is a nightmare which is why a lot of people probably struggled. It would be great if the manufacturer put a grid on the plastic side to eliminate the need for a large T-square to get square cuts. Other than that it is a great product and a decent price. LL had the best price for it in my town. the staff are friendly and helpful. I will be honest, I really didn't check to see the sound deadening. I am still only halfway through the install. I have no complaints for this product.

                                    A:

Quiet Walk is intended for floating floor use. Naildown installation is discouraged and we recommend underlayment that has been designed to handle nail-down well.

For nail downs, if you require insulating underlayment; "Bellawood Premium" and "Bellawood Platinum" underlayment is recommended. Flooring must be a minimum of 3/8" thickness, there is no board width restrictions.

In addition "Insulayment Underlayment" underlayment also works. A minimum of 3/8" thickness and 3" in width flooring. Floors thicker than 3/8" like yours can be any width.
