Comments about 4" x 12" Red Oak Grill Flush w/Frame:
This is the best vent ever. But get a pre-finished one if you can. You can also finish one if you like, but it's not as easy, obviously, as dropping a pre-finished one in. My husband is handy, but he said that since the vents are not exactly the width of two planks, if you are not familiar with a table saw it'd be a more difficult install which was not an issue for us. I'd recommend these so much more than the vents that are not recessed!

Look for slots in the to line up with the tounge from the floors. It will save you time cutting and matching
Comments about 4" x 12" Red Oak Grill Flush w/Frame:
The grates give a nice professional finish to a hardwood floor room. We had bought a spare to put a finish on at the same time to have as a backup for future breakage, so they would age the same, and also, not have to worry to get the finish again to do such a small repair. But it was lucky we had a spare, because the frame broke on installation, so it could not be used, I haven't checked, but I am hoping to be able to purchase just the outside frame to still be able to use the spare if and when I might need to.

I put the flat grill on an intake vent. It's behind some furniture so it makes it much more flexible to move the furniture around.
I found it is a little bit higher than the floor.
I love the floor! We bought the flooring from you also. It's all beautiful!

Took extra time for fitting, but was worth it for a flush fit. I wished it was pre-finished was the only con.
Comments about 4" x 12" Red Oak Grill Flush w/Frame:
This worked fine. Had no issues and the price was very good. It could only be better if they had the adjustable damper for air volume control. Not too big a deal. Otherwise, they finished with the floor very nicely. I would buy them again.

We used a planer to cut these down to use with the 1/2" gunstock oak purchased from Lumber Liquidators. They stained up beautifully and look perfect!
