We had someone install this hardwood in for us and he said it's a wonderful quality and was very easy to work with. We are extremely pleased with just how beautiful it is and how it has so much character to it! We did not stain it and left it looking natural

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
We opted for this red oak unfinished to do all the upstairs for our big 100 year old house, this wood gives all the character and charm needed for an old house. I love the knots and variety of different shades of wood tone. Many, many short pieces. Yes, there is some waste. A lot of boards have no tongue and are too split, stained or cracked to use. But, it is still worth the price! It was difficult getting the right shade of stain I wanted. We ended up with Gunstock for first coat and Special Walnut for second coat. 2 coats of Poly finished it off nicely. I love the end result. We are going to install this wood on the rest of the upstairs, and get something with a little wider plank for the downstairs. Easy to install, sand, and stain. Pics of finished product below.

I have a two story house, I started Installing the wood flooring in our dining room and family room. We were so pleased with the results that we are doing the entire second floor with 2 1/4 x 3/4 and finishing it with two coats of Polyurethane.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
the flooring was what we expected. This was #2 rustic red oak so we did not look for the best in color or grain.
that said, some of the pieces were a little bit more than rustic, they were more like downright useless or throwaway pieces, but, we used them anyway.
they need to keep the knots and splits to a minimum

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Red Oak:
After constantly traveling out to our local store for specials advertised in emails and their front page, they never once had any of these specials and usually had no idea what they were even supposed to be. Talk about frustrating! We decided to bite the bullet and get this floor with them, as much as I wanted to take our business elsewhere because of the convenience of not having to order it.
The floor itself far exceeded our expectations, beautiful colors and grains...some even spalted! We also expected shorts and got long, straight boards, along with many different sizes. We have never installed a wood floor before but found it quite easy, just a little time consuming. We had almost no waste at all and used up some shorts in the closets. Overall it has beautiful variety in colors and we couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Beware of ordering too much, we had unopened bundles left over and even after confirming with the corporate number and the local store that we could return them, once we got there the store manager gave us a hard time before finally accepting them...we liked our local guy very much, but in general not impressed at all with the company.

I used this in my living room and added a custom border made using ripped down maple and american walnut. The floor was beautiful. We sold the house but I can't wait to do it again in new house we are building.
