Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:
I LOVE MY NEW RED OAK 3/4 x 3 1/4 floors. Natural grade is the way to go. Select is too perfect. I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't have enough knotty pieces in my 41 bundles, but once we laid the pieces out, we did not care about the knots. The knots are perfect. This flooring gave me the exact look I was going for...very urban chic with a touch of beach cottage, the color of the floor is amazing! We were going to be using DuralSeal antique brown or dark walnut stain, but have decided on a matte water based polyurethane in clear as to not ruin the light airy effect the flooring gives our home. We did have about 25 pieces that we could not use, but out of 41 bundles, that is nothing! The lengths ranged from 3"-6'. We are thrilled with the random lengths.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:
I installed this floor in the laundry room and kitchen of a 1909 bungalow I'm restoring. I was happy with the results. The price was decent and I had only minor problems with installing some of the boards due to warps, twists etc. yes some of the lengths were small and I would have preferred more longer pieces but I made it work. Overall I would recommend the product provided you are willing to put time and effort into your installation. I used 2 coats of cherry stain and 3 coats of water based polyurethane to finish it. The variety of the grain and color of the wood was not an issue for me since I liked how it looked once it was stained. If you want a perfect/uniform appearance then don't use natural grade, go for select.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:
I am very disappointed in this product. When I asked about length, the person checking me out said the wood length varies from 18" to 7'. I thought that was ok. But now that the wood bundles are in my house and open, the lengths are actually 12" to 4'. That is very bad. The product length was completely miss represented. Plus, the colors of each piece vary a lot. Some are much more visibly red than the others. The wood is not refundable because it is unfinished. Had I known the product was of this quality, I would not have purchased.

Did you know Lumber Liquidators not only carries a great line of pre-finished products, but also carries raw wood flooring ready for install? It's quality milled wood too, and at great rates. Raw wood is definitely the way to go for any floor you want to last.

Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:
The Red Oak we feathered in matched the existing wood floor perfectly. It will take some time before the new finish matches the old perfectly, however, it should with no problem. I'm glad I had a place to go where the product was in stock.

Needed to repair a section of flooring that was water damaged. You can't find the area that I replaced in a large room.
