Red Oak is America's most popular wood floor choice!
It is the benchmark for strength serving as the industry standard of hardness with a Janka hardness rating or 1,290. Its reddish-brown color tones give rooms of any style - from rustic to contemporary - a warm and cozy feeling.
Red Oak will retain its beauty through years of wear and is almost unaffected upon sunlight exposure.

What is "Rustic Grade"?
Rustic grade flooring will have knot holes and open character which will readily fill and the most color variation. A limited number of pieces with no tongues which may be face nailed are also permitted.

Please note unfinished flooring sold in open, strapped bundles and not sold in boxes.

This is the 2nd time I'd purchased from LL. 2nd time was on sale and got a awesome deal making the purchase even greater in my mind. As for the flooring, this product is gorgeous. Works well throughout the home including the kitchen. If goal is rustic/country/character/casual, it needs only sanding and poly as the boards have many colors throughout and a lot of it.

      Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:

This is an excellent product that looks beautiful in any home. The install is not as easy as when using select grade but the finished product is really worth the extra effort. When finished with just polyurethane, this flooring develops such a warm color with lots of tonal variety. The best part of choosing rustic oak is that you can tell it's real wood.

We Replaced most of our carpet in the family rm,entry and living room. The floor went down pretty easy with the exception of a few bad planks without tongues but you can always use those for closets. This Projest took about 2 wks after working hrsand weekends. We love the way it turned out!

          Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:

We covered an existing (badly worn) oak floor in our dining room, ending at the transition to the original floor. The new floor installed easily, sanded down quickly and cleanly (much faster than the worn down living room) and looks great. The variation of size in the pieces was daunting at first, but ultimately we were able to do the entire 290 sq ft room without cutting a single board's length. Very impressed with the quality of this "rustic" red oak flooring.

                    Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 3 1/4" Red Oak:

I had been searching for this particular measurement and type of wood to fix my existing, yet damaged, 50 year old hardwood floor. None of the big box home improvement centers had what I needed, but Lumber Liquidators did!

I easily found the size and type of wood online, was happy with the price, and went to the Westbury, Long Island store to see if they had some to see in person; unfortunately, they were temporarily out of stock. I needed it fairly quickly, so called a couple other stores and picked it up the same day at the Hauppauge store.

The service at both the Westbury and Hauppauge stores, inside and on the phone, was excellent. The guys at Hauppauge were very helpful in giving me tips on installation (I'm a newbie).

I'm happy to report that I'm about halfway done fixing the water damaged spots with the new flooring. It has been going down very easily against the old floor, with few modifications. All the tongue and grooves have been lining up, and with the hit of mallet, clicking together. I'm super happy with this product, and am looking forward to future projects!

                    Service and delivery comments:

The service at both the Westbury and Hauppauge stores was excellent. The gentleman at both places were busy with in-store and phone customers, but I still felt like I was the only customer they were waiting on. Very appreciative of the service and helpful advice!! Thank you!

The fit and surface quality exceeded much more expensive Bruce products; no warping or bent boards! Prior to finishing, bare feet could feel no imperfections. After 2 coats of polyurethane, very light sanding of raised grain would be beneficial, but we did not do it because we wanted a rustic look. We love the occasional knots and overall finished look (3 coats, water based polyurethane. AND, the price was great. Our contractor couldn't believe it.

I couldn't be happier with my floor! I never imagined how incredibly beautiful the wood would be; some of the planks have the most beautiful marbling & variation in color! The floor is so gorgeous that we decided not to stain it but to only use a clear polyurethane coating. Slow start at first, but once we got the hang of it, the floor went down fast. Make sure you get a wood floor installation kit with tapping block & that the nailer you get takes the size cleats you have (we had to return our nailer twice before getting the right one). I highly recommend this product!!

                              A:

Best to nail this flooring, gluedown is not recommended. Urethane finish can't handle the dimensional changes that take place with extreme environmental shifts, HOWEVER you can use an unfinished hardwood (preferably quarter/rift sawn) finished with tung or other natural oils as with covered porch flooring. These site finished penetrating sealers expand and contract with the flooring without cracking.

Our Rustic grade is also referred to as Third Grade or #2 Common. The purpose of Rustic grade flooring is to produce a floor suitable for homes, general utility use, or where character marks and contrasting appearance is desired. Rustic grade flooring has a lower average plank length than Natural grade flooring. Rustic Grade flooring may contain all natural variations in coloration and sound wood characters except severe defects such as: shattered or rotten ends, badly split ends, shake, advanced rot, or severe milling imperfections which would materially impair the serviceability of the floor. Knot holes and open characters which can be readily filled are admitted. Rustic grade pre-finished flooring may have a plank face that contains a limited amount of finishing imperfections including, but not limited to: light/moderate grainy surface, debris, streaks, uncoated bevel, dents/ scratches, lipped ends, or orange peel/ropey finish. Finish skips are not permitted. When assembled, Rustic grade flooring should not exhibit gaps exceeding 0.031”or end/side over-wood(e.g. height variation between adjacent boards) exceeding 0.030”.
