We needed to replace our laminate in the kitchen with something more water resistant. Our laminate had swollen badly. This is the best product we could find and it was so inexpensive. We love it, but was scared at first slide of a chair that had a stuck grain of sand under the leg. The sand was removed and the scratch wiped away. Whew!!! Hope this is the last floor I install here.

      good product for the price

      By Bill

      from Eagan MN

      Pros

      • Easy To Install
      • Looks good
      • No Organic Material

      Cons

      • scratches EASILY

      Best Uses

I bought this product after returning a "higher grade" flooring which is much thicker and very difficult to install. I put a OSB down first because the product is very thin. Product goes down very easily. to cut, you simply score and snap, just like drywall. No need to have a miter saw.

Be careful when purchasing. The ends break easily. When I bought it some boxes were visibly damaged and some the ends were damages. However, some boxes were not visibly damaged but still had damages planks inside. The store gave me an extra box and by using the damaged boards as starter or ending boards, I was able to minimize waste.

During installation, I did scratch and replaced some boards moving the fridge, something I never has an issue with on the old Pergo. Moving the fridge also caused some planks to unlock. So far, I am satisfied with the product, but it has only been 3 weeks.

I am a property manager. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Lumber Liquidators. Travis (Indianapolis Michigan Road store) helped me and my handyman, took his time with us and was VERY patient explaining the best method of installation, durability, etc. This is for one of our units in a 20-unit apartment complex that needed a facelift. It is our hope that if a plank needs to be replaced we will find it easier to do than ceramic-tile-and-grout. Thank you, Travis!

I want to install this on the entire floor of the house. Removed carpet down to sub floors bedrooms and living room and plan to do the same with kitchen and baths which is rolled vinyl with ¼ inch underlayment. Do I use rolled underlayment for entire job or NEW ¼ inch underlayment for entire job or rolled where carpet was and ¼ inch in kitchen and baths?

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

This flooring can be installed with or without rolled underlayment. For extra sound proofing and insulation use the TRANQUILITY LVT underlayment. Only 4mm or thicker products can be floated over the Tranquility underlayment. (see Tranquility underlayment installation guide). These high quality underlayments best support the joints while ensuring superior thermal and sound reduction qualities and is highly recommended for condominium associations, project planners and building specifiers. Using an improper underlayment pad can cause seam separation.

Our 5mm vinyl plank is most durable. 4mm will hold up well too but the 5mm is the premium.

Why is it OK to install this product in a humid environment like a bathroom or laundry, but not a 3 season room like an enclosed porch? Seems humidity will fluctuate a lot more in bathrooms than on the porch.

This vinyl floor product is basically unaffected by moisture however the hot & cold will cause it to expand & contract excessively in this application.
