I enjoy the new look that the laminated flooring gives my home. When I have people over to my house the first thing they say is WOW!!! "I LOVE YOUR FLOORS".I'm looking forward to coming back to lumber liguidators in the next two months to get the rest of the flooring I need to do my bedroom. I have not found anything bad about the laminated flooring that I brought from you. [...]Mrs.Christine C.Bates

                      • Q:

In an earlier queation someone asked whether the reducer should be used as a starting point or installed after the flooring and it appears that part of the question (which I wanted to know) went unanswered. The reducer is being installed in a hall opening on the wall where I'm starting.

                          A:

Laminate reducer needs to be installed in the provided U-Track after a proper fastening. This can be fastened with screws and a rawel plug (wall plug) or with the right liquid nail for the two materials, plastic and ceramic. If you do use screws and plugs be sure the plug seats below the tile so when it expands from the screw you won't break it. If there is concrete subfloor under the tile you may used this method but could also try Tapcon concrete screws instead of plugs. Masonry bit required.

I have a height difference of 1.25 inches between my living room and bedroom. I tried this Reducer thinking it may cover the height difference but it doesn't quite cover it completely. Is there another transition option that would work better for this spot?

                          A:

Unfortunately, a 1.25" drop will require a custom made transition to be made out of wood.
