This is really a beautiful wood; tightly grained, almost like Ipe or teak, but with a more varied grain. I used it to build a tall bench for our front porch...was able to line up the joints and the resulting pattern was better than if I used a single board for each slat.
Service and delivery comments:
picked it up in the store, personnel were great; helpful, courteous and pleasant to deal with. Will use them again.

Q:I'm going to be laying flooring over a old sub floor which was layed of and a very old original tung and groove floor, which makes the floor not 100% level but with mild slopes or valleys, can I lay this over this type of sub floor, and how do I install? nail? where can I find the instalation directions
A:It is recommendes to run your new flooring perpendicular to the existing hardwood for strength and stability.

A:Yes, this material wil have a micro beveled edge
Q:CAN YOU GLUE THIS ON CONCRETE ?
A:This is a solid 3/4" product designed to be nailed to a wood substrate.
Q:I have heard that with this species the color will change dramatically around windows because of sunlight and will not match well with time, is this true? I have also heard you cannot put rugs down for around a year after installation, is this true also?
A:All hardwood floors or natural products will go through a Patina process which is either lightening or darkening over time, the time frame in which this takes place is about 12 months - the largest difference happening in the first 6 months, the key to making sure this happens evenly is to move rugs and furniture around during the first year of installation
Q:Do you have installers and if so what is the cost?
Q:What is the Janka hardness rating on this product?
A:That Janka rating is 2820
Q:Why is the warranty only 10 years?
A:This is a Major Brand product and when we retail those we have to offer the warranty the manufacturer has on the material, sorry
