My wife and I have just purchased a new house and have decided to install hardwood flooring throuhgout (inlucding the kitchen). My wife likes the feel of solid hardwood floors but I feel that engineered hardwood is a must if being installed in the kitchen. Could you please give us some insight on what would be the best solution before we end up killing eachother.

this is several questions on this product. Why doesn't the engineered wood have a java rating? Is it as hard as the solid wood as for denting? How many times can bellawood engineered flooring be sanded? Is this a good choice for in kitchens? Thank you very mujch

  Our Bellawood floors are factory pre-finished with an aluminum oxide water-base urethane using a multi-step application process. (8) coats are applied to most domestic and exotic wood species and each coat is hard-cured using Ultraviolet (UV) light. Bellawood pre-finished flooring offers superior wear resistance and is backed by a limited 100-year warranty! (The exact formula is propietary information) The formula for the Bellawood finish is a custom mix that has a 50/50 gloss. The sheen you get is shinier than satin, but not as shiny as semi -gloss.
  The average dry film thickness for Bellawood is about 3.65 mils – one of the highest in the industry.
  Maintaining the appearance of any wood floor requires close attention to in-door climate controls during seasonal changes.
