What makes Bellawood so Unique? We carefully hand select each species from regions across the globe that are known to produce denser woods and that exemplify the species' finest qualities. That's why we say, "It's more than hardwood. It's Bellawood." It?s a rare beauty indeed. In fact, Birdseye Maple isn?t a species of maple, but the product of an unique change the tree undergoes. The result is an incredible grain with tiny "bird's eye" circles sprinkled throughout. Classic wood dashboards and fine guitars often feature this distinctive wood. And because of its unique nature, it will bring unmatched distinction to your home as well. Crafted to a Higher Standard. Every board is milled to precise specifications to ensure ease of install and topped with our industry-leading scratch-resistant finish. In fact, quality control engineers walk over 12 miles a day inspecting each board, before and after the finishing process.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Select Birdseye Maple:
Had this installed in my kitchen. Its light color brightened the otherwise dark area. The quality is evident even when down on the floor and the birds eye pattern is unusual. Have had it for two years now and it looks like new (don't know what my maid uses to keep it sparkling clean and lustrous). Maple is tough and eminently suitable for a kitchen. No dents or scratches (even when appliance installers slid out an old diswasher without regard to the floor).
Don't expect "eyes" in every plank. In my batch, only 30 percent or so had them. Also, a few of the planks had a satin finish instead of the gloss. The installers didn't catch it. Make sure you or the installers angle the planks in the light prior to installation to insure consistency of finish. This product will last for generations.

Can this floor be installed over an existing vinyl (glued squares)floor utilizing it as a vapor barrier and gluing the seems? Would this work well in a commercial application such as a meeting room?1 answer
A:
This product can be nailed down over thin vinyl that is secured to a plywood subfloor. If the subfloor under the vinyl is concrete you can install the flooring over our Elastilon underlayment. The Elastilon underlayment would float over the thin vinyl and the floor would be installed over the Elastilon underlayment. This product also comes with a 5 year commercial warranty and can work well in a meeting room. Install instructions for the Elastilon underlayment and Bellawood flooring can be found at www.lumberliquidators.com.
