Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Brazilian Chestnut:
I was disappointed in the small chips in the wood and imperfections. Although it is beautiful, we will probably sand it all down and refinish it in the future so I get a smooth floor. Socks snag on imperfections in floor.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Brazilian Chestnut:
My wife and I spent a long time trying to decide on a floor. We realized we were actually picky when it came down to it. We went through many options and samples and it took a month to decide. We are very very pleased with choosing the Braz. Chestnut from Bellawood. This floor has so much character without losing its elegance. Everytime I look at it I see a new grain pattern or cool looking figure in the wood. In pics it looks reddish but its really a deep lush brown color in person. The finish seems very durable compared to others out there. Great warranty so that is a plus. Time will tell if this can hold up to a busy houeshold but it seems really nice.
It was for an area of 450 sq/ft and purchased 10% extra (500 sq/ft) for waste and ended up with 2 left over boxes we can return. If we were more picky on choosing pieces there probably would have been one box but the 10% extra was more than enough. We had a contractor install but I would probably go with Lumber Liquidators next time for installation as I think the prices are good and they do floors all the time so it would be faster. In the end it came out fantastic and I am pleased with my investment in this floor.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Brazilian Chestnut:
I know that the wood varies but it varies a lot!!!
One box had mostly dark brown, the other had a wide mix of golds and reds. Also we are using this for a picture frame and the tongue and grooves do not line up with 3 1/4 oak. I had to trim the tongue and groove of the chestnut so that the board would line up with the oak. Also it was a bit thinner. I think that all woods should be the same so that they can be interchanged.

Quality was excellent, however I returned the entire order as it did not look like the sample at all. There were no pieces in th 800 square feet of material that matched the color of the sample. Definitely not a dye lot variation.

Installed 250 sq ft. Very impressed. Only waste was a small board with a minor imperfection, but it still could have been used. Floors are very hard, but no installation issues using 2" L cleats with cheap flooring nailer @ 110psi.
Finished floor is beautiful with varying shades of lights, darks, reds and grain patterns.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 3-1/4" Select Brazilian Chestnut:
We spent a long time choosing the wood for our home. We bought the Chestnut for the bedroom and walk-in closet and the Teak for the downstairs. We installed the Chestnut in the bedroom and closet and there was such minimal waste that we had enough left over for the hallway. We are going to buy this exact wood to complete the upstairs very soon. My husband is very handy and has a lot of experience with housing projects. I have none and I found this floor easy to install and the product was easy to install, cut, fit and we had only 3 boards with nicks that we used as an end piece and cut that part off. All the wood in the 13 boxes were in terrific condition, beautiful grain and the colors are awesome. We had no waste and the floor looks, feels and is beautiful. You cannot go wrong with this flooring! We did find that we used double the nails that the store recommended so you may want to consider buying extra.
Service and delivery comments:
We were missing some items from our order but the store shipped it right to our home. We rented a UHAUL to pick up our order, an idea from the store salesman, and it was a great idea!

We are absolutely impressed. The floor is beautiful and appears to be quite resistant to scratches. We have a large dog and when she gets excited, her nails go sliding and in the last month I haven't seen a single scratch. The finish is great. It will dent, so don't drop your tools on it! My wife loves it and after doing the dining room, family room, living room and hallway, she has decided we are doing the bedrooms also. There is a little variance between some of the board widths, but if you watch you will do just fine. The scrap was minimal, about a bushel basket for the 1000 square feet that we installed. My son, daughter-in-law and I did the work and we recommend the Bellawood product to anyone who wants a truly beautiful floor.

ACCLIMATION/CONDITIONING OF THE FLOORING -SEE MOISTURE All wood products are affected by environmental conditions especially prefinished materials. Acclimate the new flooring in the areas to be installed to normal lived-in conditions while in the boxes. Length of time is not the determining factor. The goal is to reach a moisture equilibrium or balance between the new flooring with its surroundings before installation. This balance could be achieved in as little as 1 to 5 days, or longer for some exotic species. For best performance, condition the flooring to consistent indoor temperatures of 60°-80° F and indoor humidity levels of 30% - 50%. Very dry or humid regions usually require extended conditioning. Recommended acclimation levels maintained even after the installation will minimize board movement, excessive squeaks and gaps. Proper acclimation, moisture testing of the product and subfloor, even jobsite conditions all work together for the continued success of the installation and is the responsibility of those overseeing the project -the installer or wood floor owner. HANDLE WITH CARE To prevent board warping or bowing; do not cut the packaging plastic support bindings until ready to install. Do not stand flooring on ends or sides. Do not store directly on bare concrete or next to outside walls. Cartons should be placed as close to the center of the installation area as possible. Store flat supporting to the ends and center sections. Store in a dry place being sure to provide air flow under and around cartons. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from air vents.A:
