We put the Bellawood 3/4 x 2 1/4 Brazilian Teak in 3 bedrooms and they look great! Wood was of very high quality, with very little waste.

Highly recommend it for the look. We just put them in so we will see about durability. It did seem like very hard wood when compared to Oak we put in kitchen and Dining room.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Select Brazilian Teak:

We've had this floor down in our new house for just over 3 years. It still looks like brand new, like the day we installed it. Installation can be time consuming, but that expected if you do it right. It also isn't something a first timer should attempt. My father (a retired finish carpenter) and I installed over 1000 sq. ft. without difficulty over a few nights and weekends. The best part is this floor is EXTREMELY durable. It may dent/scratch if a heavy or sharp object hits it, but my kids drop stuff all the time, not leaving a mark. Compared to oak we had in our old house, this stuff is like iron! It is very easy to keep clean, either by vacuum or Swiffer. We also use the Bellawood cleaner with a dry mop, which gives it a great shine. We recommend this flooring to anyone wanting a hardwood floor and proudly promote it to everyone that sees it in our house and remarks at how nice it looks. As I said, you can't go wrong with this floor. The staff at the Lumber Liquidators in Davenport, IA were good to work with, even made returning excess easy.

Comments about BELLAWOOD 3/4" x 2-1/4" Select Brazilian Teak:

Our floor looks beautiful! We put it in our family room. There were barely any scrap boards in the box. We did buy the select wood so that could have made the difference. The finish on the boards is great. We used Brazilian Teak from another manufacturer in our kitchen and I am always disappointed that you can see smudges and things from walking on it barefoot. This floor finish doesn't seem to have that problem. Our friend, who is a professional hardwood installer, said that is was very easy to put in. He was impressed that it had a micro-beveled edge. This is great because they fit together very nicely. There are no spaces where food and dirt can get in (like our kitchen). As far as Brazilian Teak, it is a beautiful floor. There is different shading but not as much grain as oak. It is durable and does not scratch easly. We have had it in our kitchen for about 5 years.

We installed these floors throughout our house about a month and a half ago. I love them. The individual boards have a lot of variation, both in terms of color and in appearance of texture (i.e. some are silky smooth, others show the wood grain). They were pretty easy to install once we figured out what we were doing, and are absolutely beautiful. I couldn't be happier.

I used this flooring in my bedroom and I wish that I had it in the entire house. The color is has warm shades of brown without a redish or yellowish tent and it is beautiful. I brought the Brazilian Teak for its hardness rating because I have heavy pieces of furniture and I did not want indentations in the flooring. It Wows me every time I walk in the room. Unfortunately, they don't carry a quarter round trim to match and I had to purchase unfinished trim and stained it to somewhat match. The price was unbeatable.

                        A:

Yes, hardwood is acceptable for installation in a kitchen or a powder room. It is recommend to put a throw rug by the sink because an excess water can damage wood. You will need to wipe up any water that sit on the floor as soon as possible. However a full bathroom that is showered in everyday may not be the best location for hardwood. Often there is too much water on the floor or humidity that can be absorbed into the flooring resulting in board edge cupping. Resilient and Tile floors are a better choice for these areas. Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.

Lumber Liquidators offers flooring brands that practice responsible harvesting. People that make their living in timber know the importance of sustaining healthy forests. Without a well-planned growth cycle, they simply are out of business. Tree cutting is monitored very carefully within a selective cutting and replanting strategy. At Lumber Liquidators, we believe hardwood flooring is a natural, healthy choice—for both you and the environment.
What is managed forestry? Flooring mills must submit harvesting plans to the local government for approval. As a part of this process, they map and grid the land affected and take an inventory of the trees (size and species) in each grid. The government will then approve the plan and the mills must cut to it. There are limitations on the number and size of each species that can be harvested from each grid and then they must move to the next grid. Once a grid is harvested, they cannot go back there until 30 years has passed. Most mills will participate in re-foresting (planting new) even though they are not required to.
