Bellawood - An Industry Leader in Durability and Design. Everything we do is about making a better floor. From selecting the most durable wood and bamboo the world has to offer, to our patented finishing process that gives our flooring best-in-class stain, gloss and scuff resistance. This means a Bellawood floor is 2X more scratch resistant and 4X more abrasion resistant than other brands. Plus, it is backed by a transferable 100 year warranty. When you choose Bellawood, you choose a lifetime of exceptional beauty and quality for your home.

Exceptionally beautiful, and strong. Maple is ideally suited for dining rooms, kids rooms and other areas where fine living meets the demands of everyday life. Maple can often be found in dance studios and basketball courts. If it can stand up to performances like these, just image how well it will perform in your home. Its warm color ranges from creamy pale white to a light reddish brown. Individual boards may have additional character such as mineral streaks and burls unique to maple. This product is proudly finished in the USA.

We caught up with real Lumber Liquidators' customers who volunteered to discuss their floor shopping, buying and installation experiences. In no way did these customers receive compensation for their kind words. (They're speaking straight from the heart.)

  • Q:

How are hardwoods put on cement floors?
    Asked on 1/1/2013 by Anonymous

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

There are several methods to achieve this. Hardwood Engineered has a dimensional stability recommended for glue-down on flat and level tile or concrete. All 1/2" and under Solid Hardwood (and certain Virginia Mill Works and 3/4" shorts 36" and shorter) can be glued as well but On or Above Grade only. Troweled on Moisture Barrier is recommended if subfloor is on or below grade concrete. Always use the same manufacturer of moisture barrier and adhesive or combo type adhesive moisture barrier.

You can glue to flat level concrete free of contaminates, moisture and sealers.

Elastilon Self Adhesive Underlayment is a good option for any flat subfloor. You can use up to 3/4" thick or thinner solid or tongue and groove engineered flooring (works best with 1/2" or thicker). Floating with Elastilon needs to have an expansion break for spans over 33' on it's width, but not length.

  • Q:

Would this flooring be ok installed in a kitchen or should I look into the engineered flooring in case of water spills?
Asked on 8/29/2012 by Lisa from Leominster, MA

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

This would be a good choice for your kitchen, an engineered product would work well too but this solid is a better selection

  • Q:

How many times can a 3/8" floor such as this be sanded and refinished on average?
    Asked on 3/27/2012 by Anonymous

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished. Solid hardwood that is ¾” thick may be refinished 4 to 7 or more times depending on how much wood was taken off on each refinishing. Low profile solid wood flooring like 5/16” thick flooring may be able to be refinished twice if the flooring is in good shape. Engineered flooring with a 1/8” wear layer or more will be able to be refinished at least once. If the engineered product has a 1/16” wear layer a professional sander may be able to refinish it, but many won’t take the chance in case they make a mistake and take too much off the wear layer. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

Can this floor be installed with nails (cleats or staples) over a "masonite" underlayment?
Asked on 12/30/2011 by Anonymous from Cedar Rapids, IA

    1 answer

    • Staff Reviewer

      A:

      SUBFLOOR PREPARATION
Do not install flooring directly over joist without subflooring.
All structural panels/underlayment must be installed sealed-side down, and provide ¾” perimeter spacing. Square-edged or non tongue and grooved panels used as a subfloor will require a minimum 1/8˝ (3 mm) expansion space between all plywood seams.
Panels must meet minimum CDX grade Exposure 1 and US Voluntary Product Standard PS1-95, PS2-04 or Canadian performance standard CAN/CSA 0325-0-92 for construction sheathing. Check underside of panel for codes. Minimum of 3/8˝panel thickness is recommended when used as an underlayment.
Note that joist spacing determines minimum subfloor thickness.
      • Joist spacing 16” on center (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (5/8˝) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum (3/4˝, 23/32”) Advantech Minimum (3/4˝, 23/32”)
      • Joist spacing 16” up to 19.2” (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (3/4˝, 23/32”) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum of (3/4˝, 23/32”)
      • Joist spacing over 19.2”up to maximum 24” (oc)
Plywood: Minimum of (7/8”) Oriented Strand Board (osb): Minimum of (1”)
      • Particleboard or Masonite: is not recommended, remove or cover with 3/8” plywood.
•Avoid pressure treated plywood for interior use as these can have elevated moisture content or latent with rot resistant chemicals.
You can find complete installation instructions on the product page by clicking on the specs tab and then clicking on - Installation Guide.pdf
