            Comments about R.L. Colston 3/4" x 2 1/4" Maple:

This hardwood floor was a joy to install. The boards locked into place. The milling standards were consistent, the boards were straight and true. I did not encounter any boards with blemishes. I would use this product again. My only concern is the stack of short lengths I have left over. When I calculate the shorts as a percentage of the overall project it is about 4%. I was careful to use shorts under Kitchen cabinets...so the percentage might be higher in a dinning or living room.

Nice stuff. I got 2 bundles of ~20sqft and probably had about 38 that was useable. Very little was broken or scratched unusable. Very pleased.

                    Service and delivery comments:

Wrong product delivered to store from online order. The order took 2 weeks to get there too. Luckily, the store manager found the same product in a different store. I had to drive 30 miles to get it though.

Just installed some of this to patch some old flooring that needed repair. I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the overall appearance of the wood. Very clean, straight, and easy to install. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this manufacturer in the future.

Great product. I installed the same wood in a living room and dinning room about 8 years ago and it still looks like new. We decide to replace carpet in a couple of the bedrooms and this floor is what we are putting in there as well. I really like the wider planks, makes installation easier (less nailing).

We were adding unfinished maple to existing maple previously installed. This wood is so clear and beautiful, I wish it was throughout our entire house. The wood was milled very straight and true, no warps and defects.

this was used in a 1938 farm house remodel. Once all the floors are sanded and finished we expect to not be able to tell where the old floor ends and the new one begins.

I used this product to repair areas of a 100 year old floor. The quality, grain and color were a perfect match After I sanded the entire room the new wood blended in beautifuly with the old.

What is the thickness of the tongue? I am trying to find flooring that will match my 92 year old maple flooring. My flooring is 3/4" thick, 2 1/4" wide, 2 1/2" including the tongue, and the tongue is 5/16" thick and rounded (not square).

Most tongues on a 3/4" solid wood floor will be about 1/4" to 5/16" wide and thick. When tring to match an existing maple you want to check the grade of the floor and the color. Is it more uniform or you have allot of variations in color? If you had to you could use a router to make the first row of the new flooring fit with your old flooring and then continue with the new flooring throughout the rest of the area. You could also order one bundle to test if it will work with the flooring you already have.
