    Comments about 3/4" x 5" White Oak:

While getting ready to refinish my kitchen cabinets, I found that this 3/4" T & G oak flooring was priced much lower than dimension lumber. I ripped the flooring to overlay the existing face frames and glued up the T & G planks to build new doors. Also overlaid T & G planks on cabinet sides and exposed back. Intent was to get a kind of vintage furniture look. Used a two-tone finish to produce a custom look. It was a lot of work and some kitchen disruption, but the kitchen was never fully out of commission. Very happy with the end result. I plan to use the utility oak when I start my outdoor cabinet project.

The adhesive that is used in bonding our Bamboo, Cork, Engineered, and Laminate flooring products contain very low amounts of Urea Formaldehyde. We feel that our products are very safe and most meet California CARB Phase I or California Phase II regulations, which is listed on the boxes. We also list MSDS sheets for most of these products on the Lumber Liquidators website “Flooring 101”.

For complete MSDS information; Please go to our Website @ LumberLiquidators.com and at the bottom of the page click on Flooring 101, enter St James Laminate MSDS , enter, then click on the PDF to open. for adhesives enter; MAPEI ADHESIVES MSDS and BOSTIKS ADHESIVES MSDS. Individual MSDS sheets are also available by entering the product .

      • Q:

Is this suitable for below grade installations (basement)? How does it hold up to humidity?
        Asked on 7/27/2011 by Anonymous

        1 answer

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

Yes. Requires dry concrete and moisture barrier. A 6 mil poly sheeting moisture barrier should be laid for floating floors for an On or Below Grade Concrete subfloor. Overlap seams and tape with duct tape. Overlay perimeter 3-4" up wall. The indoor relative humidity should be 35-75%, with temperature of 60-85°F.

Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factor that influence wear.

      • Q:

How many different "style" of planks are there? The 6mm Utopia Maple only has ONE. Each plank in all of the boxes is exactly the same. However the 7mm Maple Planks (that I no longer see for sale) had more than FOUR styles. Since the pattern on each of the 4 styles was different, it was VERY easy to mix them up - resulting in a more realistic natural wood floor (each natural wood plank is unique). plmk how many "styles" per box. Thanks

The website shows St. James 12mm as having a 30 yr warranty, but St. James Stratton Mountain Maple shows 10 yr. warranty on product. In the store where I first saw it the display showed 30 yr warranty. Which one is correct?

          A:

It really isn't recommended to install laminate or wood flooring in a full bath due to high amounts of humidity and water. We do not have any problems with installation in a half bath.

          A:

The expansion gap for the Dream Home - St. James 12mm Stratton Mountain Maple Laminate is 1/2" around the whole perimeter of the floor and any fixed object. Acclimation should be for at least 2 days in the room the flooring will be installed. The planks should be left in the boxes for acclimation. • Q:

I have almost the exact color on my laminate floors now, but each of my panels has a "two-column" pattern, as opposed to the more popular "three-column" patterns on most laminates (like on the Sugar Maple, 6mm, 6SG).

It's hard to tell from the picure on screen, but is the Stratton Mountain Maple, 12mm, 12MA also a "two-column" pattern? It looks like it is, but I can't be sure.

        Thanks!

        • Staff Reviewer

          A:

I'm sorry but the 12MA St. James 12mm Stratton Mountain Maple Laminate does not have two columns or 3 columns on the plank face. It is one full piece with no columns on the face of the planks.
