3/8" x 5-1/4" Spice Engineered Bamboo Prefinished Flooring- 25 Year Manufacturer's Warranty

About Bamboo:
Bamboo floors' popularity has increased over the past few years as people have become more aware of the fragile state of the environment.
Because it is a grass rather than a wood, it grows far more quickly than a tree. The plant's extensive root system continually grows underground and it replenishes itself naturally, as grass does.
New growth, which springs out of the ground and can mature up to 24" in  24 hours and unlike trees, bamboo will regenerate quickly, making it a renewable resource.

Great Value

By Trev

Installed in Kitchen. Great product, but with a fairly big color variation. The small display sample in the store was MUCH brighter than the actual product. Being my first floating floor, it was pretty easy to install too.

Okay for the price.

By Tristan

from LA, CA

Pros

  • 5 inches wide

Cons

  • Too many half sizes

Best Uses

  • low traffic areas

I needed a 3/8" flooring that is easy to install & this fit the bill. It laid easy & fast. My main problem was that there were too many half sizes. I was hoping for all full length. I had to incorporate a bunch of half sizes or I would run the risk of running out of full length pieces. The floor looks great.

    Happy with the outcome

    By Danny DIY

    Pros

    • Appearance
    • Installation

    Cons

    • Tounge and groove

    Best Uses

I layed this floor in my mother-in-law's bedroom. I've previously layed laminate throughout my entire home so I've got some experience installing this. The tounge and groove on the vertical ends of the wood are pretty pointless. You have to use wood glue in order to hold it in place. The wood glue is not fast drying so the first couple of rows that you lay are going to be a pain in the butt b/c they will move around until you have enough peices connected that it will be weighed down. After installing about 3 rows, the installation was easy. Just remember to use the wood glue to avoid having the planks come apart from one another (on the vertical connections). The room looked great when completed. Total installation time on 14x12 room was about 5 hours.

Too soft, poor durability, pretty color

      By bumpski

      from Idaho Falls, Idaho

I purchased this on a recommend, and it is very beautiful to look at; I really like the color. But other than that there is nothing I like about it. It is VERY VERY soft and shows indentations where a chair has rolled. And it scatches so easily. I put it in my bedroom, and as careful as I have been it just has no durability whatsoever. Thank goodness for rugs! I would never buy this again, and I would certainly not recommend it to anybody. It is nice and thick (3/4"), and besides the pretty color, there is nothing else good I can say about it. You're better to go with laminate, or a wood that is hard.

      Poor Durability

      By Ryan the do-it-yourselfer

      from Lawrence, Kansas

      Pros

      • Aesthetically Pleasing
      • Easy Installation

      Cons

      • scratches EASILY

      Best Uses

      • Low traffick areas

Installed over concrete subfloor in babies room. It looks really nice, but I was unpleased with the relative ease with which it scratches as compared to laminate flooring. I would not advise installing in a high-traffick area or where pets will be active.

          Color and quality are beautiful!

          Pros

          • appears durable
          • Installation was great
          • Warm Rich Color

          Cons

            Best Uses

This floor installed nicely. Color and richness of the bamboo is unique and evident in each plank. Careful cutting required as wood splintered easily. Very happy with the look and quality.

This is a click together floating product. So elastilon would not work with it.

I'm reading in previous remarks about this engineered bamboo floor and water. I have a shark steamer that I clean my laminate floors with; can I use it on the engineered bamboo floor or will it damage it? Is this a 'sealed' floor? What is the best way to clean these floor?

                  A:

We do not recommend steam mops or Roomba Scooba robots on our laminates or on any of our wood floor products. Although appropriate for kitchen sheet vinyl or ceramic tiles, wood, laminate and cork floorings have raw seam edges that can swell or cup with use of these cleaning methods. We recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Thank you for your inquiry.

This is an engineered material meaning that there is a veneer of solid bamboo attached the top of pine layers that are laid perpindicular to each other which does not allow for as much contraction and expasion

This is a floating floor application so you may want to use glue but only on the tongue and groove of the flooring, not on the subfloor to attach the planks to that
