So glad I went with this product. It is peace of mind to have the better quality engineered hardwood that will wear better in places like the kitchen and bathroom. You don't have to freak out about a little water like you do with laminate.

    Pros

    • Confident in durability
    • Elegant look
    • Quality look and feel

    Cons

    • No match transition strip

    Best Uses

    • FORMAL ROOM
    • Traditional look

I used this flooring in my living room. It is a small room of 250 square feet and the flooring adds a very classy look. The maple spice color and grain fit the room perfectly - not overpowering with color or depth of grain. I have never experienced engineered flooring before but right now I am impressed. It has a solid feel and does not appear to scratch as easily as hardwood. The finish appears to offer enough protection.

    Service and delivery comments:

    • Q:

Can this product be refinished like an solid wood floor?
      Asked on 9/18/2012 by Ron

      1 answer

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

Full refinishing will take slightly under a 1/32” off the veneer of the wood flooring. The thickness of the veneer and how much wear and dents a floor has will determine how many times it can be refinished.
Engineered flooring with a 1/8” wear layer or more will be able to be refinished at least once. If the engineered product has a 1/16” wear layer a professional sander may be able to refinish it, but many won’t take the chance in case they make a mistake and take too much off the wear layer. We recommend that hardwood floor refinishing be done by a professional and if your not sure if you can refinish your flooring have professional sand and finish expert come to your home and evaluate your flooring. Thank you for your inquiry.

    • Q:

What are the lengths of each section. I am looking to install as a ceiling over pre existing beams.
Asked on 8/11/2012 by Bob from Miami, FL

        A:

The boards will come in random lengths from 18" - 72". Normally if someone is interested in using flooring for ceiling applications they stick with our unfinished pine that comes in 6' and 8' lengths

    • Q:

is this appropriate for high traffic area? what about a bathroom? scratch and dent easy?

      • Staff Reviewer

        A:

This material is the thickest of the engineered products that we retail, it has a 2MM wear layer and would work well in your high traffic area's. The only other material in an engineered line that would have a thicker wear layer is our Bellawood Engineered, that is 1/2" thick total with a 3.5MM wear layer
