About Handscraped Flooring:
Handscraped or distressed hardwood floors have a natural worn appearance. They look like floors from the days when floors were finished by hand.

About Engineered Flooring:
Hardwood veneer layers are stacked on one another, with the grain of the adjacent layers oriented perpendicular to each other.
Because wood expands and contracts in the direction of the grain, one layer stabilizes the next, resulting in a product that is less susceptible to the effects of moisture & temperature change.

Can anyone speak to the durability with pets?

      A:

      DURABILITY
Despite today's advanced technology, water spills, dirt and other abrasive substances can damage a wood floor's finish. Location, traffic patterns, how often the floor is vacuumed and cleaned, children and/or pets are all factors that influence wear and durability.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

How do you clean? Does not seem to react to polish of any type and am afraid to use water based products.

      A:

We can only recommend our Bellawood Floor Cleaner, or cleaners that are safe for water based urethane finishes. Never use any polish, wax, oil soaps or cleaners that add shine to the floor. In addition, we do not recommend using steamers or wet-jet cleaning systems for hardwood because spraying can collect moisture in between board edges. The use of these products is at your own risk.
      Thank you for your inquiry.

  • Q:

Would this flooring be appropriate for a kitchen area too?
Asked on 3/12/2015 by Renee from St. Charles, MO

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Hardwood, engineered, laminate (thicker and higher warranty laminate and engineered is better in high traffic areas like kitchens), vinyl plank, cork, and high warranty bamboo (Morning Star or Bellawood) is acceptable for installation in a kitchen, but we highly recommend you put a throw rug by the sink because an excess of water can damage any floor. Like hardwood flooring, spills should be toweled dry promptly.

  • Q:

Online the product states that it can be installed floating, but in store we were told it must be glued down. Can we install with the floating method? We have already purchased the floor and floating is our preferred method of installation.

      A:

Yes this floor can be edge glued with a PVA adhesive and floated. Thank you for your inquiry
